EN \u2013 Toronto. <\/b>What a great city \u2013 we had so much fun! We stayed 4 nights and 3 days, so here is a more explicit post. We stayed at The Planet Traveller<\/a> and I’ve never seen a hostel like that. It definitely felt like staying at a deluxe hotel. Especially, the great view from the rooftop terrace convinced us to stay for another night. Also, the people were really cool and easy to get in touch with.DAY 1: After stopping by the Royal Ontario Museum<\/b>, we\u00a0drove downtown to the Flatiron Building<\/b> and wanted to go to St. Lawrence market<\/b>, but is always closed on Sundays\/Mondays. We headed on to have lunch and some relaxing moments at Origin<\/b>\u00a0(the foodguide is up on the previous post). In the afternoon we took the ferry to the Toronto Islands<\/b>\u00a0where we enjoyed a lot of \u2013 too much sun that I got sunburnt at the beach. The islands are great, but they are the only access to water, because the city itself is cordoned off by the highway along the coast-side. We arrived at the hostel late in the afternoon and whiled away the evening with a great sunset on the rooftop terrace.<\/p>\n

DAY 2: The Bixi<\/b>\u00a0bike-rental system<\/a> in Toronto is the easiest way to get around in the city and we explored the city a bit. Our first stop was the Art Gallery of Toronto<\/b>\u00a0and the Ontario College of Art & Design<\/b>. Afterwards we drove to\u00a0the City Hall<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Nathan Phillips square<\/b>.\u00a0We had sushi at Spring Rolls<\/b>\u00a0and went a little bit window shopping at the Toronto Eaton Centre<\/b>.<\/p>\n

DAY 3: Kensington Market<\/b> was just around our corner, so we had a stroll around that area. Little lunch stop at Sanagan’s Meat Locker<\/b>, which is absolutely a great spot (also – see more in my previous food guide-post). Afterwards, we headed on to the … Finally, I got to see the St. Lawrence market<\/b>, whereof I was a little bit disappointed, because it was just like any other market. The rest of the day we spent looking for a classical\u00a0Toronto Maple Leafs T-Shirt<\/b>, but they were almost sold out everywhere. Luckily, we found one at the stadium’s shop. Go Maple Leafs go!

DE \u2013 Toronto. <\/b>Was f\u00fcr eine coole Stadt \u2013 wir hatten so viel Spa\u00df! Da wir uns ein bisschen l\u00e4nger in Toronto aufgehalten haben, gibt es einen ausf\u00fchrlicheren Post \u00fcber die Stadt. Untergekommen sind wir im\u00a0The Planet Traveler<\/a>, das ich euch nur w\u00e4rmstens empfehlen kann. Das Hostel ist supermodern und die Leute sind supercool drauf.<\/i><\/i>DAY 1: Gleich fr\u00fchmorgens sind wir zum Royal Ontario Museum<\/b>\u00a0gefahren und dann weiter zum Flariron Building<\/b>. Die Stra\u00dfe runter befindet sich der St. Lawrence market<\/b>, der leider geschlossen war \u2013 wie jeden Sonntag\/Montag\/Feiertage. Dort in der N\u00e4he haben wir dann die Sonntagssonne im Origin<\/b>\u00a0genossen (der Toronto Food Guide ist ja bereits online – hier). Nachmittags sind wir auf die Toronto Islands <\/b>gefahren, wo wir den restlichen Nachmittag am Strand verbracht haben und auch gleich den ersten Sonnenbrand geholt haben. Die Inseln sind super, aber leider sind sie der einzige \u00f6ffentliche Zugang zum Lake Ontario, da die K\u00fcste durch den Highway abgesperrt ist. Anschlie\u00dfend haben wir den Abend auf der Dachterrasse unseres Hostels ausklingen lassen.<\/p>\n

DAY 2: Am n\u00e4chsten Morgen sind wir gleich mit unseren Fahrr\u00e4dern losged\u00fcst \u2013 der\u00a0BIXI<\/b>-Fahrradverleih<\/a> ist eine super M\u00f6glichkeit um g\u00fcnstig und schnell sich in der Stadt fortzubewegen. Unser erster Stop war die Art Gallery of Toronto<\/b>\u00a0und das Ontario College of Art & Design<\/b>, wovon man einen genialen Ausblick auf die Stadt hat. Anschlie\u00dfend sind wir noch beim Rathaus<\/b>\u00a0und Nathan Philips Square\u00a0<\/b>vorbeigefahren. Das Toronto Eaton Centre <\/b>befindet sich nur ein paar Stra\u00dfen weiter, wo man super einkaufen kann. Bei mir blieb es vorerst nur beim „window“-shoppen.<\/p>\n

DAY 3: Gleich um die Ecke unseres Hostels befand sich der Kensington Market<\/b>, wo wir unbedingt bei der Metzgerei\u00a0Sanagan’s Meat Locker <\/b>vorbei schauen mussten (auch hier gibt es mehr Bilder in meinem Food Guide). Anschlie\u00dfend haben wir uns den Bau des … angesehen, wovon wir nochmal zum St. Lawrence Market gefahren sind. Leider ist der Markt nicht wirklich spektakul\u00e4r. Den restlichen Tag haben wir damit verbracht, ein Toronto Maple Leafs Trikot<\/b> zu suchen, die fast \u00fcberall ausverkauft waren. Schlussendlich mussten wir bis zum Stadium fahren, um endlich eines zu finden. Go Maple Leafs Go!<\/p>\n
