Restaurant in Berlin | BLEND Kitchen & Bar Fusion kitchen at Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof

Here comes the first food critic of the year. Before Christmas I tried the newly opened BLEND Kitchen & Bar at Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof on Budapesterstraße close to the Ku’Damm. The restaurant was recommended by an acquaintance. In fact, after a longer design- and reconstruction phase the ground floor of Pulman Berlin Schweizerhof reopened its restaurant and bar mid October. It was designed by two Russian interior designer. Super creative and stylish – a successful and striking concept, I’d say!

The challenge of HOTEL-RESTAURANTS

In general, it’s not that simple for hotel restaurants. Who would go for dinner in a hotel restaurant? I would definitely. During my blogging career I’ve discovered to many great hotel restaurant concepts (e.g. in Dubai it’s normal to eat in hotel restaurants).

The BLEND Kitchen & Bar is located on the ground floor of Pulman Hotel and is welcoming passerby from the street having it’s own entrance. Therefore, you don’t necessarily have to pass through the hotel lobby. For a Monday it was quite calm. However, it’s always recommended to book a table on weekends.

Drinks & Food at Blend Kitchen & Bar
FUSION KITCHEN EN POINT!

Let’s talk food now. The BLEND Kitchen & Bar serves international dishes. Most dishes have an Asian influence – fusion kitchen en point! We were entertained and pampered personally by the chef cook Steffen Sinzinger. 4 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts later we were definitely full but happy. Every bite was delicious. The combinations are creative and rich in variety!

  • My highlights were the winter rolls with duck pastrami, pumpkin and cranberry (9€), the octopus salad with aubergine, baked sweetbread and Asian glace (12€), fried beef fillet with grilled aubergine and miso (23€) and as sweet final the Earl Grey parfait with blood orange soup and cream cheese (7,5€).

RÉSUMÉ

The BLEND Kitchen & Bar is definitely a great address for a cozy evening with great food. Also, the dishes are perfect to share, which takes the dinner experience on another level. I’ll definitely come back!
