Sunset alla romana

Panorama terrace Altare della Patria. 4 days in Rome, 4 Tage in Rom

Panorama terrace Altare della Patria. Is there something more beautiful than enjoying the sunset in a city from above? In fact, I’ve never been on the panorama terrace Altare della Patria, from where you have an amazing view onto the city. I can only repeat myself how pretty and impressive the Italian capital is. The architecture and old remains are so stunningly beautiful.

My March travels are now coming to an end and I am happy to spend a couple of days at home… no suitcase packing, my bed and cooking at home! Next week I’ll start again to post regularly and be excited for a couple of new posts!

Have a wonderful Easter and enjoy your time with your family!

4 days in Rome, 4 Tage in Rom
EN
4 days in Rome. I’m so sorry for the lack of posts up here but I’ve been travelling from one city to the other in the past weeks (which you can follow on Instagram). Let’s start with a couple of impressions from our beautiful weekend in Rome. My boyfriend had to travel to Rome for work, which was the perfect occasion to spend a long weekend there. In the end it was 4 days in Rome for me. Moreover, I was happy to see my aunt again, who’s been living in Rome for many years now.

While I’d travelled to Paris many times in the past three years I completely forgot how beautiful Rome was. I can’t believe that my last time is already two years ago. All my posts from there are up here.

I’ve visited Rome many times with my parents when I was younger. Still, there are so many new places to discover. Moreover, I love to stroll through the city with my camera in my hand, which is what I did on the first day. My boyfriend arrived late in the evening so I had a lot of spare time on my own.

Doesn’t the Tiber look a little bit like riverside by the Seine in Paris? For me it definitely did – especially for the amount of house boats. A walk along the river is always beautiful but I like the area next to the Isola Tiberina the most. Walking from Piazza del Popolo I headed towards the Prati neighborhood, where I’ve never been before. I discovered a cute square with this beautiful fountain in the middle.

Behind Parco della Villa Borghese, in the northern part of the city, you’ll find this cute quartiere Coppedè. You can have a walk through and discover a bunch of beautiful Roman villas.

Of course, food can’t be missing. There’s already a huge list of restaurant recommendations up here. In general, Rome got super expensive for eating in the city centre. Therefore, a lot of Roman people are heading out of the city for restaurants. There are a lot of Roman trattorie, where you pay around 12€ for a cacio e pepe in a really shabby place. For that money you can get a plate of pasta on a beautiful terrace right in the middle of Campo dei Fiori.

My aunt brought us to Scarpone, which is a really popular restaurant for Roman people. You’ll probably won’t find any tourists here. We had delicous carciofi alla Guida, paccheri all’Amatriciana and delicious gnocchi. Highly to recommend!

A stroll through Trastevere is always a must. There are a lot of cute shops and delicious gelaterie. I remember walking through this pretty neighborhood when everything was in full bloom two years ago.

A friend of mine recommended Il Rugantino, which has a lovely terrace outside. Even though, it was a very touristic place I’d eaten a delicious plate of spaghetti alle vongole. The prices are very reasonable and I paid 10€ in total (a liter of water cost 1€, which I’ve never seen before). Good thing is that they don’t charge any covers.

I couldn’t remember if I’d ever visited the Castel Sant’Angelo, which I highly recommend. The view from the top of the castle is so beautiful! I suggest to go there either really early to get beautiful morning light or enjoy a sunset on top on the panorama terrace.

Paris today! Yay! I’m finally back in the city. After a wonderful trip to Rome Paris is on this weekend. I’ve already picked a few restaurants and cafés where I’d loved to go to! I arrived yesterday around noon and checked into the beautiful Hotel Thérèse (super central location in the 1st arrondissement, which is where I lived during my exchange year). and went for a quick burger at Les Marché des Enfants Rouges and finally met with Amandine again. Funnily, we don’t both no longer live in Paris but accidentally met up there a lot of times. I remember a couple of good ones! It’s so nice to meet great people, who you are bonding with immediately.

Here’s a look I shot with Irina a while ago, which matched to good with Paris this weekend. I absolutely love this boyish Promod baby blue coat. Also, the sweater is so cute and I really like the pearl details. The lace blouse beneath coming through adds a nice look.

Wish you a wonderful day!

Restaurants. Bonjour the Paris! I’m so excited to be back in my favorite city in the entire world. Rome was already amazing and I’ll get you updated about that soon. I told you I was going to travel non stop. Here are a few restaurant recommendations that I’d saved on my phone for a long time. You must know that my restaurant list for Paris gets longer and longer each time. There is always too little time for trying all and in the end we’re always going back to our favorites.

5 Restaurants in Paris to try SEASON

SEASON was probably the most instagramed brunch place during fashion week this month. Of course, how can a place like this be empty? I’d already saved it for my next time in Paris and I’m super excited to try it. They serve perfect avocado toast and pancakes along with delicious drinks. Also, the interior looks just how I like it.

5 Restaurants in Paris to try Marcovaldo

This time it seems as if I had saved only breakfast/brunch places. Especially when we’re staying at a great hotel were they’re probably serving delicious breakfast too. Marcovaldo is a cute café in the Marais serving also various sandwiches for lunch.

5 Restaurants in Paris to try Trois fois plus de piment

I love Chinese kitchen and this restaurant has been on my list quite a while now. Hopefully I can tick it off my list this time! Trois fois plus de piment serves Sichuan kitchen and I miss this type of cuisine a lot from my time back in China. I heard good recommendations about it and apparently the prices are absolutely reasonable and they serve quickly.

5 Restaurants in Paris to try Le Burger Fermier

When it comes to eating I trust Edna from Expat Edna 100%. Especially I love her ‘The Best things I ate in …’. She’s recently published a new article from her trip to Paris and was writing about this amazing burger at Le Burger Fermier at Les Marché des Enfants Rouges. I’m already a huge fan of the marché itself but never tried the burger stall.

5 Restaurants in Paris to try jantchi

Last but not least I came across Jantchi, which seems to be a delicious Korean place. Luckily, it’s right next to my hotel and I will definitely try this one out.

Self-made. This beautiful lace skirt has been hanging a couple of years already in my wardrobe. It’s a self-made one by my mom, which she gave me as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. Also, matching clutches came with it. If she only had more time to sew me something. My wardrobe would be filled with more individual and high quality products. It’s such a difference how clothing is made. Here I combine it to a pair of knee-high suede leather boots with glitter heel from DUO and a casual boyfriend blazer.

… and my anticipation grows day by day as our first trip of the month is coming up! My boyfriend and I will spend the weekend in Rome. Hopefully the weather is good!

Happy World Womensday!
