Wow – this has probably been the longest break ever on the blog. I’ve been loaded with work the past week and I was exhausted in each evening. The weekend was packed too. Well, time management changes as soon as you work full time again. Moreover, my weekly routine hasn’t fully set in. To top it all I’ve also got a little flu but I’m already feeling better. But it’s not going to be better until Christmas. I’m sure I’ll manage … somehow.
Today I’ve got a quick Berlin recommendation for you. ORA Café at Oranienplatz is probably one of my favorite cafés in Berlin so far. I just love the fact how they reuse old venues here in the capital. In fact, the café is a former pharmacy and they’ve left the old interior – very charming! As a freelancer I loved to go there in the morning when it is super calm and relaxing. The café is perfect all day round. For the hungry ones among you, they also serve various meals for lunch and dinner but also little snacks all day round. I think I’ll let the pictures do the talking and will go back to work!
Enjoy your day! You’ll hear from me on the weekend again!
Better late than never – before November is already over, here’s a monthly recap of October.
Wow already more than a month in Berlin. Back in October, I still haven’t gotten an apartment and I was so happy that I could stay with Amandine for a couple of weeks. In November, I could finally move into the new place – wohoo! October in general was quite busy with my new job, the blog and social media consulting aside. I still need to figure out how to manage it all. Moreover, I want to experience Berlin to the fullest which is why I was out almost every evening. Gosh, there are soooo many restaurants to try.
October started with a lovely weekend in Munich with Amandine. We went to the Oktoberfest and drove to the nearby Tegernsee. That was beautiful. Back in Berlin I had a whole week of flat hunting. How do people manage to look for apartments while they work? It’s nearly impossible. I’ve had my first event in Berlin with Philips and had a relaxed dinner with the team at Kopps. Oh, how could I forget! It was also my birthday (first time in years that I didn’t mention it on the blog here!), which I celebrated in a small group this year. No annual Törggelen back home unfortunately. Well, and a couple of restaurant tests later the month was already over!

Since I started working I didn’t have much time to go shopping. But I got a couple of cool beauty accessories, which I’m curious to try. I’ve finally got a Philips Lumea Prestige IPL. I’ve already started the treatment. My test review will follow. Also Philips gave me one of their VisaPure Essential cleaning brushes. So excited to try the products.
Right now I’m trying to make our apartment a little bit smarter and installed a few bluetooth thermostats to automatically regulate the temperature. I can easily control it on my phone. I only need to get some smart bulbs now too.
Here are a couple of my new purchases and favorites:

Finally, I’ll take you to Antibes and its coastal resort Juan-Les-Pins. Both are approximately a half hour drive away from Cannes. Our stroll started at the Port Vauban, where we went to the Le Nomad sculpture by Jaume Plensa. Later on we discovered the cute small alleys of Antibes. A crêpe on the hand couldn’t miss. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the best I’ve ever eaten but okay.
Here you’ll find more entries of our Côte D’Azur trip out of high season:
Antibes is one of the oldest cities along the Côte d’Azur
Pablo Picasso settled there in the 20th century. The Pablo Picasso museum is definitely worth a vist!
In Juan-Les-Pins one of the most popular jazz festivals of France takes place – the Jazz à Juan
The coastal resort Juan-Les-Pins was a popular spot for lots of celebrities, e.g. Marlene Dietrich, Gary Cooper, Josephine Baker or Coco Chanel
the Port Vauban with its yachts and view onto the Fort Carré
Juan-Les-Pins spreads a little LA flair along the Côte D’Azur. The small houses with a little American touch together with the high and thin palms. You can perfectly go shopping in Juan-Les-Pins. We let the afternoon fade out along the beach and watched the beautiful pink sunset. Trop beau!
