Check please!

Autumn is here and I’m absolutely in love. We had the best weather in Berlin yesterday. While it’s getting all cozy and greyish here today I’m taking advantage of prepping a couple of posts for you.

I’m absolutely in love with check pattern these days. This cute skirt and another pair of checked pants with red stripes had to come with me. Also, I’ve stapled up quite a lovely selection of leather jackets and the fit of this More & More one from last season is just perfect.

Time of change

Everything is in transition right now. And some change feels good sometime. One year ago I moved to Berlin, switched from freelance working to a full-time job. Meanwhile I was trying to work on the blog as much as I could and also doing freelance social media projects on my spare time. It was all too much.

Hard work will pay off, they said.

Sometimes yes. Sometimes not. This summer I’ve realized that I had to step back at some point and focus on less projects. So what’s next? I’ll keep you updated.

Speaking of this look I should’ve recommended these black slacks already before. It’s been a long search for the perfect pair of business trousers. I usually don’t like the carrot cut of the usual ones. Therefore, I was more than happy that I came across a slim, highwaist pair of business trousers. I was so happy that I got them in beige and a floral version. In this look I’ve styled it for a night out with this sequin body. I’ll show you an office look with them soon.

Things not to miss in Tokyo | Minimalist tea tasting at SARYO

I’m currently reminiscing about our beautiful time in Tokyo whereof I still got so many great tips for you. Where to start? Among the top things you should do in Tokyo is either a traditional Japanese tea tasting experience or a minimal modern tea experience like we did. Being a huge green tea lover it was an absolute must for me.

Luckily, I came across the beautiful minimalist tea shop SARYO in Setagaya. The neighborhood is approximately 10 minutes from the famous Shibuya crossing by train. The visit of SARYO was the perfect stop during our architecture tour through Tokyo, which I’ll tell you more in a separate post.

Tea tasting experience Tokyo SARYO

The tea shop is super small and minimalist. The large wooden tea bar counter fills the bigger space and has a small shop and kitchen at the back of it. The whole interior is handcrafted. So are the tea drippers, which are made from a copper base, a ceramic dripper and a wooden holder, which the owners designed themselves.

We came quite early on Sunday noon when it was still quite calm. The staff was super friendly and spoke very good English to explain all the kinds of teas. We chose the tea experience with 2 type of green tea and 2 refreshments. Therefore, we tasted four types of Sencha green tea in total.

In the first round you’ll get to taste the two types of Sencha, whereof you can get your favorite one refilled. In the second tasting round they’ll add toasted aromas and brew it once more. You rarely find any toasted green teas in Europe and the taste of it is very special. I liked it but I’d rather prefer a “normal” Sencha tea.

  • This tea experience costs 1,900JPY (around 14€)

The Red Check blazer

One last heat wave came in the past days. While I was wishing to spend it more outside I was mostly stuck in my bed with a cold and constant headache. Of course, I always force myself to go to work although I shouldn’t. Lesson learned: at some point it is best to stay at home and recover.

To brighten up the day I’ve got a new look for you with a little pop of pink and red. I’m so in love with this pink check blazer. Still quite a summer look which could easily be replaced with a pair of blue jeans. The check pattern is going to be a huge trend this autumn and I love a more colorful version of it. However, I’ve also bought some grey checked piece, which I’m going to show you soon.

Talk to you soon!
