Brunch in Berlin Mitte

What a joy when friends from Munich come to visit me in Berlin. Conny and Phil were here last weekend, which was the perfect opportunity to try a new place. We met up for brunch at Neumond at Scheunenviertel in Mitte.

I especially love the dark wooden interior at Neumond. As soon as you’ll enter you’ll find the long bar to the right and a huge table in the middle which is inviting for bigger groups (note to myself – put in on the list for big dinner dates!). In the second dining room you’ll find a mix of smaller and bigger tables. The ambience is perfect for a cozy Sunday morning but also for dinner, which I’ll have to try next time. Only I would’ve wished for a relaxing background music as it seemed a little bit ‘naked’ without. But maybe it is only me who needs music all the time?

Whenever I spot Eggs Benedict (8€) on the menu I’ll immediately go for it. But it was one of those Sundays I didn’t want to decide. On the other hand, I had to try something new. Therefore, we went for the breakfast tapas (4 Tapas 10€, 6 Tapas 14€ | 9 Tapas 21€). 9 Tapas on the menu – perfect to share! Most of the tapas were really good. Everyone has its own taste.

Moreover, you’ll also find typical breakfast dishes such as Berliner Frühstück Neumond Style (12,50€) or Berliner Frühstück Royal (13,50€), such as Eggs in the glass (4,50€), Turkish Eggs (12,50€) or delicious pancakes (5,50€) and much more!

  • Each Sunday you’ll find the offer “everything which comes on the table”: for 29€ per person you’ll get three rounds with lots of delicious dishes. Drinks and coffee included.

RÉSUMÉ

We’ve spend some relaxing hours at Neumond. The service was quite fast at the beginning and the food was quickly served. But despite we were sitting there for longer we weren’t asked once in a while if we’d love something else. Not a big deal but I thought I’d mention it. All in all, I loved the ambiance and I’d definitely come back for those Œuf Bénedict. If they’re good they won’t have seen me the last time!

Forget black – wear navy!

Caught in the act! It’s quite hard not to wear black in winter time. I usually go for it because it is classic, unpretentious and easy to combine. But what about navy? Nice color, also easy to combine and looks much fresher and happier than black. Beige is usually my favorite color to combine navy as worn in this look.

I’m so happy to have found these perfect suede ankle boots in the sales. Although I can’t wear any high heels right now they’re just waiting for me to wear them all the time. Moreover, I found this cute skirt in the sale too. I’ve realized that cute skirts are definitely missing in my wardrobe.

Asian restaurant in Berlin | Akemi – Fusion dinner in Prenzlauerberg

It’s official! My restaurant lists is endlessly long. I’ll have to pick the best ones now and try them out.

This week’s ‘tried and approved’ restaurant choice is Akemi in Prenzlauer Berg. Since it was fashion week it was the perfect opportunity to meet up with some old blogging friends. As Alix said “fashion week is like one big school trip”. As a matter of fact, I know the one or other person already over five years.

AKEMI

Akemi is a cute Asian fusion restaurant. The modern lamps together with the wooden tables and metal chairs add some Industrial flair. The ambience is cozy, which attracts a lot of people. The service was really friendly. We didn’t plan to be as many people and in other restaurants the service would’ve already freaked out. No problem at Akemi!

On the menu you’ll find mostly Vietnamese/thai delicacies but also sushi and wok dishes. The Asian tapas immediately caught my eye. Amandine and I shared six different tapas.

My favorite? Hard to say. I always love a good Bao Bun with pork belly, such as a rice noodle salat. Alice’s highlight are the BBQ pork rips, which I’ll have to try next time. But no worries – most of the dishes come also in a Vegetarian or Vegan version!

We’ve spent a relaxed evening and stayed until the restaurant closed. I will definitely come back and try the other tapas.

Hey darlings! I hope you’ve had a wonderful start into the week. While everybody’s hanging out at fashion week my days are filled with craftsmen appointments and work, work, work. At least I can get a little break from it in the evening. In fact, I’m meeting up with a few bunch of old blogger friends this evening. Crazy to think that we know each other already for 5-7 years.

I get to love business looks more and more. We don’t have any dress code at work. However, I prefer to wear properly and something nice. Spa – without me! This would’ve been the answer a few years ago. Back then I needed action and relaxing meant being bored to hell. Today I enjoy every other minute that I get to spend in a calm and relaxing environment. Last year was marked with lots of beautiful stays in spa-hotels in winter time but also in summer. And I truly got to love those experiences. As a matter of fact, I was more than excited about our invite for a day-spa at the 5* hotel Chalet Mirabell in Hafling, South Tyrol. It got super trendy in South Tyrol to book day spas in hotels rather than going to public spaces, e.g. Terme Merano or Aquadome in Bressanone. In fact, South Tyrol has a handful of absolutely stunning hotels with magnificent spas. Count the Hotel Chalet Mirabell to them!

Day Spa HOTEL CHALET MIRABELL

The wellness area is huge but was quite quiet during the holidays. Definitely not run over, which was good. The saunas, hamams and pool are so beautifully designed. And the best thing about each room is definitely the view onto the mountains – breathtaking! We did some of the sauna and hamam infusions. I absolutely loved the infusion at the event sauna while the sun was setting behind the mountains.

Day-Spa with DINNER

We let the evening fade away with a delicious dinner. The hotel cuisine is great and we there was nothing to complain about. In summer time the sun will set later. Therefore, you’ll enjoy the sunset during dinner time, which is definitely a highlight.

Our day at Hotel Chalet Mirabell in Hafling was definitely like a short ski holiday for us. It was so good to take a break in between the holidays and from everyday life. I would definitely book a day-spa once again!
