It feels a lot like Paris at Caffé Conte! The stylish café’s interior looks a lot like my favorite cafés in Paris. The daily café is located in a quiet side street of the crowded Leopoldstraße in between the metro lines Giselastraße and Münchner Freiheit. Next to it there is a small boutique having cool clothing and accessories. I didn’t know that they belong together.

Caffé Conte Food & Drinks
The café offers a lot of fresh juices, home-made lemonades (which I highly recommend) and more hot drinks. Next to the small breakfast menu they also serve lunch – e.g. Chinoa salads, various pasta dishes or couscous. You can eat in or take your meals out. For our breakfast we chose a fresh Ana Banana juice and a fresh orange juice. Moreover we tried the Crunchy Müsli and Quinoa-Granola next to a delicious chocolate croissant. The perfect start into the morning!
Next time I’ll try one of the daily dishes and if I’m in a hurry sometime their delicious sandwiches would be perfect.
Caffé Conte Prices
Prices are varying between 5,20 – 6,50€. Egg dishes start from 5,20 and depending on the topping up to 9,50€. Moreover they offer a Vital-Breakfast (7,90€), Sportif-Breakfast or Italian breakfast (9,90€) or a French breakfast with a croissant and coffee for 3,20€. Fresh juices cost between 3,60 – 4,50€. The daily changing lunch dishes cost around 4,90 – 7,5€.

Alpro Go On
Go on! That is exactly the motto of the new vegetable curd alternative Alpro Go On as well as the Alpro Go On Soy yoghurt varieties with mango, black currant and passion fruit. Together with Alpro I have given some thought to this subject, which I would like to share with you. You will probably have similar feelings about the one or other Go On tip.
– in Zusammenarbeit mit Alpro
Morning Rituals A cold shower, a delicious breakfast and cycling
Let’s start with the toughest ritual – a COLD shower! Nothing will make me more awake and fitter in the morning than a cold shower – I feel fresh and my whole body gets alive. Who really needs Actimel to activate the body’s defenses? An empty stomach does not help either. I can never miss a breakfast, however short it may be. I prepare my breakfast varieties either before or after showering, just down to my whim.
Year by year I turned more and more away from milk products and since the beginning of this year I have also passed up coffee (wow, already six months, how fast time goes by). Now I have my daily green tea to go with either oats and almond drink, delicious smoothies or power curds with chia seeds. I do not pass up completely milk products, but I notice that my body feels better, when I eat less of them. At this point the vegetable curd alternative Go On from Alpro is a good match, as it satiates me until noon. But only after having cycled to the university or my workplace I get completely awake. Even though it is only five to ten minutes – my body needs them to get up to speed.
So ganz wach bin ich dann aber erst, nachdem ich mit dem Fahrrad zur Uni oder in die Arbeit gefahren bin. Auch wenn es nur 5-10 Minuten sind – die braucht mein Körper um auf Hochtouren zu kommen!
Powersongs
Spontaneously a song occurred to me – Wild Child from WEEKED. One of the best songs ever, which reminds me of my glorious time with my flat mates in Paris. Music simply gets you in the mood. Besides I can maintain that a got a bit of rhythm in my blood and thus music always gives me a kick. Sometimes it is also tolerable to dance alone in front of a mirror.
Some of my absolute favorites are:
- Breakeven – The Script
- Aaron – Paul Kalkbrenner
- Never Be Alone – Justice vs. Simian
- Paper Planes – M.I.A
- All Good Things come to an end – Nelly Furtado feat. Zero Assoluto

Friendships
Friendships are important to me and I always try to cultivate my relationships. My best friends date back to my school years, and notwithstanding the distance between South Tyrol and Munich nothing can separate us. As an example I can cite my best girlfriend. We never quarreled and jealousy has never been a topic, we simply enjoy having a good time together. For one year already we exchange Email updates besides Whatsapp and short exchange a nice variety. Furthermore I am happy having known some very good girlfriends through blogging. In this regard the most important Go On Moment is not feeling alone thanks to good friends, who motivate and help you, when necessary.
Good Food
There is nothing nicer than eating! As I said, I have a copious breakfast taking me through until lunch. In the afternoon it may be a small snack, and the three different tastes of vegetable soy yoghurts from Alpro are an ideal match for it. They are very creamy and I feel they have almost the same taste as normal yoghurts. The perfect Go On – Moment also en route.
What are your pick-me-ups and how to you motivate yourselves? I am looking forward to hearing from you!
I wish you a wonderful day!

Beauty Talk | Braces for adults

Braces for adults. These last weeks I had a little change, which I have not yet shared with you. Since three weeks I got a couple of years younger and got fixed braces! I haven’t taken this decision overnight, but have played with the idea of a tooth correction for the last two years. Better late than never! Maybe some of you are also considering the use of a dental brace. Hopefully, I can give you some tips and recommendations in this regard.
Braces for adults How it all started
I have always been happy with my teeth, except with my second tooth in the right upper jaw, which is a little pressed to the rear. The right side of my face is not the favorable one and, therefore, I have always shown its left side on pictures. I have very narrow jaws resulting in the third teeth of my lower jaw are very much pressed forward. Generally, my teeth are very healthy and never caused pains over all these years. In February 2015 I started a new job sitting day in, day out in front of the computer. Just during that time I had strong temporomandibular joint aches and could scarcely open my jaws. Thereupon I was recommended to consult Dr. med. dent Anja Leiß of orthodontics studio Prognath.
The Diagnosis
I was told that my temporomandibular joint aches had probably been caused by stress and a wrong sitting position in the office – these aches calmed down quickly. At my first call Dr.Leiß told me right after the greeting: “You are totally asymmetric”. Thank you, as if that was not normal with human faces… She described me the various models of dental braces – exterior, interior, Invisalign etc.
My diagnosis was the following one a very narrow jaws meaning that the wisdom teeth had to be extracted. Moreover, I have a double-sided cross bite, being also responsible for my muscular temporomandibular joint.
Why no Invisalign? Jaw operation and more…
I don’t have to explain you in detail all possible braces for adults. Orthodontists can do that better. My jaw is very narrow, which excludes different varieties of dental braces right from the beginning. Invisalign is a fantastic possibility, but none of the consulted orthodontists recommended it. The method can well regulate minor malpositions; it is almost invisible and must only be taken out for meals. However, there are also some drawbacks, as all Invisalign braces are prefabricated in the lab and cost a packet. Orthodontists have difficulties in manually correcting them. My present orthodontist joked that dentists without orthodontic formation prefer Invisalign braces. In my case they dropped out from the first.
A friend recommending me the orthodontics studio already advised me of a possible jaw operation. In case of a necessary operation the health insurance company absorbs all cost of a dental brace. Only the brackets have to be paid. In this case of transparent brackets the cost is about 300€ (no warranty, as the case dates already two years back). The dentist felt this could also be my case.
Before deciding for a jaw operation I wanted to know the result first. For at that time the insurance company gave me a negative reply. As already mentioned, Dr. Leiß also suggested that eventually some teeth had to be extracted. Amongst them also a frontal one, which would not be noticed at all (an acquaintance of my friend did that resulting a front tooth now lying in the middle). These suggestions did not enthuse me and I decided to listen also other opinions.
Orthodontists in Munich and surroundings and in South Tyrol
Last year I called on many orthodontists, as I wanted to collect more opinions and cost estimates. Thinking that a braces for adults would be cheaper outside Munich, I also consulted orthodontists near Garmisch-Partenkirchen and in South Tyrol. Those were the ones I consulted:
- Kieferorthopädie Prognath (München) – Result: See above propositions, eventually a jaw operation including a wisdom tooth operation | Cost: I had not asked for an estimate of costs. – First consultation paid by the health insurance company | Duration: One year with jaw operation, otherwise 1.5 – 2 years.
- Kieferorthopädin Dr. Schönbach (München) – Result: normal firmly built-in brace, minimal abrasion of rear teeth. Wisdom tooth operation beforehand | Cost: starting from 7.000€ with exterior braces / starting from 10.000€ with interior braces – First consultation 43€ | Duration: 5 – 2 years.
- Kieferorthopädie Bavaria Crystal (Garmisch Partenkirchen) – Result: firmly built-in brace, wisdom tooth operation beforehand | Cost: starting from 6.000€ transparent brackets – First consultation paid by the health insurance company | Duration: 1.5 – 2 years.
- Zahnarztpraxis Dr. Bernhard Fries (Mittenwald) – Mainly braces for children and only metal brackets.
- Kieferorthopäde Dr. Florian Zuegg (Meran, South Tyrol) – Result: Exterior braces | Cost: around 5000€ – First consultation included | Duration: 1.5 years
Braces for adults My decision
Ultimately I decided to have my dental brace made by Dr. Zuegg in Meran in South Tyrol. My aunt was already in her mid-thirties, when she got from him braces. Besides three of my cousins get such a treatment from him. On April 4, 2016 I had my first appointment with him. A very friendly, quiet and proficient doctor. Also his team is very nice. In the beginning I ws ready for everything, even for metal brackets. But when Dr. Zuegg showed me his technique for adults, I was very relieved. The braces would be nearly invisible and look quite elegant.
Many of you will consider it very cumbersome to shuttle form Munich to Meran, but thanks to my independent job it is no problem, and for the rest I like to be at home time and again. Every six weeks I have to undergo a control visit, which I can well combine with my other appointments.
Braces for adults First three weeks with braces
In the meantime the first weeks with a dental brace are already over. At present I have also rubber inlays for stretching my jaw. Their unfamiliar pressure on my teeth caused me pains while eating in the first week but it got better. Until now everything is perfectly fine. My friends have also been positively surprised, as the brace is really scarcely noticeable. Likewise, I do not try shamming and laugh in a normal way.
I hope you liked this first article and if you like I can give you a little update once in a while! Have you got braces and what was your experience?
