Pink Terracotta. One of the main reasons I was so excited to fly to Marrakesh was the great weather. Warmer temperatures, while it got super cold back home. Moreover, I finally could wear my new Chicwish crochet off shoulder top, which I had bought in late summer. Unfortunately, autumn came earlier than expected and the top landed in the back of my closet. Moreover, I shopped these lovely golden sandals from Boohoo before our departure. I was surprised how comfortable they are.

So much for today. I’m sorry for this short update but I’m currently in Dubai and our dinner reservation is waiting (we’re three hours ahead)!

Talk to you soon!

#thegoldenbunontour | Riad AnaYela – where to stay in Marrakech

Riad AnaYela. I couldn’t wait to finally fly to Marrakech, which was probably one of the most popular blogger destinations in 2015. Therefore, I was excited and happy about the invitation from Riad AnaYela, a small luxury Riad in the North of the old town, the Medina. A dream of Thousand And One Nights! The AnaYela is part of the Green Pearls, which is a fine selection of unique and sustainable hotels worldwide. When we entered the Riad we knew that this place was special. Luckily, we were picked up from the airport because we would have probably got lost in the jungle of streets in the Medina. In fact, it lies pretty hidden in a small alley (see a picture below) and you won’t be expecting a little dreamy getaway behind those doors.

Riad AnaYela

We were warmly welcomed and immediately asked for our shoe size. We got our own leather slippers and were asked to leave our shoes in the foyer. After the foyer you’ll enter the lovely court with a small swimming pool in the middle. The AnaYela is decorated so lovingly, traditional but still modern and clean. A typical Riad is always constructed around a central courtyard with rooms around on one or two floors. In fact, there were two rooms on the ground floor and three more rooms on the upper floor. That’s everything and your stay will remain personal and unique.

Riad AnaYela A story with five chapters

The AnaYela has only three rooms and 2 suites. The rooms are divided into chapters. If you’re booking the whole Riad you’ll have a story of five chapter. The room had all we needed and there was a large comfortable bed to the left. In the middle we had two small pouf chairs with a couch table and a spacious bathroom was to the left. You could close the room with two glass sliding doors and a heavy curtain. The way of living is a completely different one, because the room looks quite dark at first. In fact, you’ll stay more outside the room in the courtyard or on the terrace. This creates a complete different way of communication within the building. On the other hand, it was so nice to sleep in this darkened room because I’m quite sensitive to any light and the room was dark enough. The bathroom was perfect as it had enough surface to place all our cosmetic bags, which most of the hotels lack. The bathtub was enormous and perfect for a relaxing bath for two (in case you’re traveling with your boyfriend). My mum enjoyed her bath alone.

A double room cost 190€ / night.

Riad AnaYela The breakfast

A good breakfast is always the best way to start the morning. In the AnaYela they always prepared our breakfast freshly and it is all so lovingly prepared. On our first day we got yoghurt with fresh fruits, raisin rolls, a sort of Moroccan crepes and a plate of cheese along with fresh baguette. We wondered if we would get the same breakfast again the day after but we didn’t. Along with the cheese plate, and fresh fruits we also got some pain au chocolats and more pastries. Everything was so good and it was the perfect brunch! A good Thé à la menthe couldn’t miss, which is one of my favourite teas. You should definitely order it sweetened as it can get really bitter.

We were so in love with the small Tagine pottery, where the jam and butter was served in the morning. Even though, nearly every shop had them, they didn’t have the same quality we had at the Riad. In the end, they were selling them and we were so happy to get some. Although they were nearly three times the price you would get them in the Souks you saw that they were hand made and of great quality.

Riad AnaYela The terrace

On our first day it was a little bit too nippy for having breakfast on the terrace but we enjoyed the sun on our second day. On the terrace they also have a real desert tent. Therefore, you don’t have to drive far to get some desert feeling right in the city. I would have loved to go to the desert but our time was way too short for that.

With the time change we managed to get up super early to see the sunrise around 7am, which was such a great idea. The whole city was still asleep and it was super calm. Also, we always came back in the late afternoon to see the sun setting. You’ll see more impressions in my travel diary!

The new La Biosthétique Protection Cheveux Complexe treatment

La biosthetique protection cheveux complexe treatment

– this post is only available in German

DE

Protection Cheveux Complexe Ergebnis

Travel planning | what to consider for and on your trip to Moscow

Travel planning Moscow. And I’m finally coming to the last part of my Moscow feature – all around the travel planning. Moscow is such an incredible city and I highly recommend a trip there. Here are some hard facts, which you should take in consideration before your trip:

FlighT booking

Starting from Germany there are tons of cheap flights to Russia. Luckily Pobeda is now departing daily from Allgäu Airport Memmingen, which is super handy for us living in Munich. You can get flights for 59€ one way right now. All you need for your booking is a scan of your passport.

My flight was booked on 22.09.2016 and cost 9377.88 RUB (=ca. 130€) return.

VisA

I’ve heard that you’ll need an invitation to travel to Russia. This is a whole lot easier right now because there are agencies who’ll book your visa for you. I’ve requested mine on www.buch-dein-visum.de gebucht. All you need herefore is:

  • Passport in the original (not older than 6 months and needs to have 2 blank pages)
  • Biometric passport photo in color
  • a copy of your travel insurance
  • Certificate of residence (if you’re not of German nationality but living in Germany, not older than 1 month) – an enrolment certificate works for students

Your passport will be sent back and you’re ready for Moscow.
A visa costs 85€.

How to get to Allgäu Airport

My film team and I took the comfortable Memmingen Airport Express bus from Munich central station. I’ve already taken the bus several times and the journey takes around 1,5 hours. The bustimes are timed in order to have enough time before takeoff and landing.

travel planning moscow _ moskau reisefacts _ moskau visum _ moscow visum _ moscow travelfacts

Flight

The flight from Allgäu Airport takes around 3 hours. Pobeda flies with the newest machines, which are super comfortable and clean. Given the fact, that it’s a low cost airline you should think of bringin food and drinks because they won’t serve on board service.

Currency

You can order Russian Ruble beforehand at your bank, which takes around one week. Otherwise you can withdraw or exchange money at the airport, which is the handiest way. The exchange rate is approximately per 70.

travel planning moscow _ moskau reisefacts _ moskau visum _ moscow visum _ moscow travelfacts

Off to the city

We’d arrived quite late and took a cab to the city centre (around 30€). I’ll get to speak of taking taxis below. The less expensive way would be to take an UBER Pop (around 12€) to the city centre but then you’ll need internet at the airport. You can also take the Express Train to the city.

Moskau has three airports. Pobeda flies daily to Moskau Vnukovo.

Hotel

We stayed the Hotel Kitai Gorod , which cost 9900 RUB (around 130€) for two nights. The location was absolutely fine, nothing special but clean and the location was very good. We could reach all sights on walking distance. Moreover, it lies directly at the metro Kitai Gorod.

travel planning moscow _ moskau reisefacts _ moskau visum _ moscow visum _ moscow travelfacts      travel planning moscow _ moskau reisefacts _ moskau visum _ moscow visum _ moscow travelfacts

Metro

Russian metros are so impressive. I’ve found a couple of beautiful metro stations photographed by David Bureny in this article. However, taking the metro has to be learned. Even though I had all stations written in Cyrillic in my guide we always went in the wrong direction. Not to mention that Russians barely speak English.

Taxi and Uber

We were warned of Russian taxis and of course bamboozled once. There are official taxis but also some where you need to negotiate the price beforehand. We didn’t know that and the taxi driver wanted so much money for a 10 minutes ride. As soon as we got back to the hotel we only took UBER. UBER Pop is allowed in Moscow and you can get around really cheap. But avoid the rush hours! One evening we waited 40 minutes for our UBER.

WIFI

There aren’t any mobile packages for Russia but there is Wifi everywhere. Therefore, just ask the waiters at the restaurant or bars.

Best time to travel

I must say that the temperatures where quite a shock for me. 3 degrees Celcius was not was I was expecting after beautiful warm autumn temperatures. It was super freezing already in October. We were told that the best time to travel is May to June.

I hope you liked this article and please don’t hesitate to ask!

Moscow Food Guide – 5 bars & restaurants you have to try

Grand Cafe Dr. Jhivago _ Grand Café Dr. Zhivago _ eating in moscow _ essen in Moskau _ moscow Restaurants

Eating in Moscow. In the 24 hours (ok let’s say 28 hours) in Moscow we’ve managed to check out quite some cool restaurants and bars. Luckily, I had a lovely acquaintance who was living in Moscow and recommended some awesome places. Moscow being the largest metropolis has indeed lots to offer. You’ll find tons of traditional Russian restaurants, Soviet bars and a variety of hip and modern places as we’ve discovered some of them. Here are five great spots that you should definitely try on your next Moscow trip!

Grand Cafe Dr. Jhivago _ Grand Café Dr. Zhivago _ eating in moscow _ essen in Moskau _ moscow Restaurants

Eating in Moscow Grand Cafe Dr. Jhivago

Starting our sightseeing trip early in the morning the Grand Café Dr Jhivago was the perfect choice for an extended brunch with some Russian specialities. It is located on the backside of the Red Square directly in the centre. As soon as you enter you’ll find a modern restaurant decorated all in white and red with transparent Kartell objects. We ordered a lot of food and even managed to eat it all. Starting with a warm almond croissant, hot oatmeal and omelettes with mushrooms. Whenever I see Oeuf Benedict on the menu I have to go for that, which made three different meals for me. A really tasty speciality were the dumplings filled with cherries, which I highly recommend. Ah that was such a yummy fest and the perfect start into the morning. As you can imagine we didn’t need any lunch later.

Eating in Moscow Odessa Mama

Coming from the street you’ll already see a nice terrace outside with cute lamps hanging from the trees. This is right where Odessa Mama is located. I imagine summers here amazing! Somehow I didn’t feel like in Russia at all. It reminded me more of places I’ve seen in London. As soon as you enter you’ll be asked if you’d like to eat Georgian or Ukrainian food. The Georgian restaurant is located on the lower floor, while the Hungarian restaurant in on the upper floor. This is great and makes you come more often. The interior is super industrial, with cozy music and friendly staff.

We were lucky to get a table because the rest of the restaurant was packed. Even though they had English menus in Moscow, they barely speak the language. One thing which was super cool was that they had a full book with pictures how the dishes would look like. This time we ordered a wide range of interesting things like a starter with cured pork belly, baked veal and apricot-chicken rollup (780 RUB – 11€), pike caviar (540 RUB – 7,9€), chicken hearts with sour cream and onion (5,4 RUB, which were delicious). I also took the stewed beef with cherries (630 RUB – 9,2€), which was so tasty. This was definitely comfort food and this spot is such a great recommendation!

Bars in Moscow Kitayskiy Letchik Dzhao Da

Later on that evening we also managed to go to one more bar for a nightcap. Luckily one really cool bar I’d saved was right next to our hotel and checked it out. The Kitayskiy Letchik Dzhao is a super laidback bar and they usually play live music. They have different rooms. I’m sure there are tons of bars like this one spread all over Moscow.

Eating in Moscow Uilliam’s

One more highlight was definitely dinner at Uilliam’s, which is a super trendy restaurant. As soon as you’ll get in the area you’ll already feel that the neighbourhood has more money. Uilliam’s was also packed for a Tuesday evening and we got a small table next to the open kitchen. Open kitchens are always great and you can also eat directly there. The whole restaurant has such a nice atmosphere. We had a nice starter with tartar and a little salad followed by delicious lamb chops and beef. It was all freshly prepared and tasted really well. All in all, I would come back again but the restaurant is slightly overpriced. On the other hand, good meat costs a lot of money and I’d rather spend a little more for good quality. And don’t forget to check out their bathrooms, which are probably the cutest I’ve seen in a long time.

Bars in Moscow Kalina Bar

For our last evening we chose a special location for some drinks. There are a couple of bars with an amazing view over Moscow and the most famous one is Sixty. However, the restaurant/bar is only open on weekends. Luckily, Kalina Bar was our next choice, which was view-wise great. Since we didn’t manage to go to the newer district Moscow City we got a nice overview from their top floor. Perfect ending to a great trip I’d say!
