Riad Dar Grawa. In Marrakesh, you have a big choice of wonderful Riads in every price bracket. The AnaYela was unfortunately booked solid for the last night and so we stayed overnight in the Riad Dar Grawa. Judging by its style, you notice immediately that it is completely different from the AnaYela. This riad is closer to the Boutique Riad style and the whole house is excellently tiled. That is the beauty about Marrakesh that you find something for every taste.
Riad Dar Grawa
From their design, the rooms resemble more a classic hotel. It is true, that the rooms are somewhat bigger than at Riad AnaYela, but the bathrooms are much smaller. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well in it. However, the feeling was different. Although the room showed to an inner court, there was no access to open air. Especially in the morning you felt the need of airing thoroughly. In the bathroom there was no surface for our cosmetic articles and all in all it was minimally equipped. But overall it was clean and the room was nicely decorated.
Room prices are starting from 215€ / night. Make your reservation here!
When visiting Marrakesh I strongly recommend picking a riad with terrace, as you do a lot of footage during the day and afterwards you would like to chill fully. Our terrace was small and sweet. However, when we arrived at the terrace in the late afternoon, unfortunately, all seats were taken, but I am sure they will put other deckchairs there on request.
Riad Dar Grawa The breakfast
Breakfast at the Riad Dar Grawa was also included, and it was a very copious one. Besides my beloved Thé à la menthe there were croissants, fresh bread and fruit salads. In Marrakesh you always get freshly pressed orange juice, which I also love to drink at home.
Riad Dar Grawa The Location
The location of Riad Dar Grawa is excellent, as all important sights are within five minutes’ walking distance, as e.g. the Bahia Palace, die Saadian Tombs or the El Badi Palace. Besides the souks are only about ten minutes away.
On the whole, we had a very nice but short stay at the Riad Dar Grawa and I can only recommend it to you.
Riad Laarous – the new Riad of Dar Grawa
Incidentally, the Riad Dar Grawa has now established a second branch being styled in a completely different way – the Riad Laarous. It follows the concept of a kind of small farm in the middle of the town. We visited the Riad Laarous two weeks before its inauguration and meanwhile you will find it online. There you will discover a more rustic ambiance – the riad has been partly designed by nonprofessionals, which conveys an uncompleted character to it. This is intentional, in order to create a cosier atmosphere
Riad Laarous The rooms
The rooms of the Riad Laarous have a country style equipment creating a reference to the barnyard so that you feel like living on a farm. The interior is designed with great care, and the wood together with the partly plastered and partly unplastered walls give it a super look.
