Tips for your long weekend on Mallorca

I do understand now why everyone keeps going back to Mallorca. We flew down from Berlin for a spontaneous weekend. Because some sun & sea is never a bad idea. It was absolutely worth it and I definitely want to come back next year. This time we stayed directly close to the harbor in Palma, which couldn’t have been a better spot for eating, going out and you’ll easily get everywhere from there.

Of course, I’ve brought you some great recommendations for a long weekend on Mallorca.

Ps.: I left my DSLR at home for the weekend which I truly regretted at some points. Luckily, we had an iPhone X with us!

Spend a day at the beautiful BEACH CLUB GRAND FOLIES

The beautiful Beach Club Grand Folies is a truly hidden gem in marvellous Cala Llamp (Port d’Andratx). We booked some sunbeds beforehand which was such a great idea. The spot was worth every penny and we’ve spent one of the best summer days there.  Sea, a good glass of rosé and so many great laughs.

Beach Club Grand Folies also includes an ice cold sea salt pool (I preferred the sea, though) and a adjacent restaurant. So they’ll perfectly take care of you. Of course, you can also order food at the sun-beds. Apart from the high booking fee of 50€ for the VIP sun-bed drinking and eating prices were absolutely human.

How to get there
If you don’t have a car I recommend taking a cap, e.g. from Palma it takes about 40 minutes and costs around 40-50€.

Have lunch at the MERCAT DE SANTA CATALINA

Since we were staying close to the MERCAT DE SANTA CATALINA in Palma we went grocery shopping there most of the times. The market has such a great offer of fresh fruit, fish and meat. I could’ve stayed there for one week and only cook. One evening we bought some steak and shrimps and put them on the grill. The taste was just out of this world!

  • By the way, have you already had scrumbled eggs with chorizo? OMG, so good!

Steak & tapas at PAXTI

Of course, one evening we had to head out for some Spanish tapas. As we’d already seen on Ibiza it is quite hard to find them on the Spanish islands. Luckily, PAXTI is a great dinner spot. They have such great tapas and not to mention the delicious steak. I highly recommend to try the various croquetas. Especially the one with squid are so delicious.

Walk through the beautiful old town of Mallorca

On our last day we took a long walking tour through the old town of Mallorca. Take long stroll along the beautiful esplanade along the port up to the famous Cathedral La Seu.
