March Recap. Oh-em-gee. The past months have just been incredibly busy that I always need to look up in my calendar what I’ve exactly been up to. Let’s see… The month started in the southernmost part of Japan, Okinawa. I’ve finally finished to cut the travel vlog on the plane yesterday and it’ll be up ASAP (depending on the internet connection here in Thailand). All of my Japan posts are already online and I’ve enjoyed reading.

Right after I spent a couple jetlagged days in Munich and had some quality time with close friends, which was great. ITB in Berlin was on the agenda next. Julia flew into the capital as well and Amandine was so nice to host us. The fair was very busy but interesting. We’ll see how the next catch up round will go. Of course, the airport staff decided to strike right on time while the fair was taking place. As a matter of fact, my flight was cancelled and I had a 6,6 hours train ride to Munich followed by a 3 hours ride back home to Italy. Not so nice!

As soon as I got back home I started unpacking all my stuff, ran errands, got some work done. Whenever I’m home time just flies so quickly. Friends came to visit over the weekend and it was so good not to be in front of the computer. And then it was already time to pack up my things again. One backpack for Thailand (where I’m heading right now) and another luggage was for five days in Austria with my mum. Perfect quality time in the mountains! We did a little hotel hopping and tested some really cool ones – everything on fleek! As you could see in my last post we also went skiing for the last time. Unfortunately, the snow is way to mushy now. Bye bye ski season!

In a nutshell: Japan – Berlin – South Tyrol – Austria – Munich – Berlin – Munich – off to in Thailand now!

Monthly favorites thought

… about getting my own car. However, I want to invest in something for the future and more importantly ecological. Japan has inspired me a lot. Most of the cars I saw were either electric ones or hybrid. Hybrid is very cool because they’ll charge while you drive. Moreover, living in the mountains an electric car isn’t probably the best idea unless it’s the BMW i3. Not that I could afford it and I don’t even like the design. But it accelerates so quickly! Anyways, as soon as I’m back home I’ll check the prices of more affordable cars. In the end, I only need a little city car while I can use my mum’s car for longer distances. What do you think?

Monthly favorites Bought
Shopping logo

When I was in Japan I bought some really nice porcelain, which I still need to show you. Also, I brought a trolley full with Japanese groceries back home – rice, algae, lots of green tea and matcha powder, Bioré charcoal nose pads, face sheets and more.

Here are a couple things more, which I’ve gotten:

  • A proper backpack for Asia trips – mine is the Yukon 60+10 from Tatonka
  • New boat shoes from Timberland here
  • A couple of pretty clothing and slipper from Esprit
  • A new phone case from Richmond & Finch here
  • Two new watches from Rosefield here & here
  • A pretty off shoulder dress from Guess here | here

I think that was it for last month.

Why do I always add this point? So embarrassing. Neither this month have I read something. I think the best gift to myself would be an e-reader. But I just love the old school way of having a proper book in your hand. Luckily, my best friend reads a lot and next time I’m at her house I’ll borrow some. But I read the manual of my juicer – does that count? :-D

Monthly favorites seen
Movie Logo

Have I already told you about The Royals? I think I have. One of the best series I’ve seen in a while. I didn’t have time to go to the movies. I don’t watch TV. On the other hand, I still watch my favorite vlogger and that’s it. Those are my short 10 minutes of Youtube per day … or 30 minutes of Youtube. Still my favorites: Jon Olsson, Janni Déler, Jacie Duprie, Aimee Song, Sara Bow, Kate La Vie and Riley has finally his own vlog (those of you who have been following Jon Olsson’s vlogs know who I’m talking about). And biggest news of the month: Casey Neistat has started vlogging again. Whoop whoop! Always loved his vlogs.

Montly favorites planned – travels

As I said, I’m in Thailand right now. I’ve never been to Thailand therefore you can imagine how thrilled I am. Afterwards I’ll be home for Easter. My brother is coming back home and I am more than excited to see him as he’s living in Vienna. Still no plans for the two weeks back home. And then I’ll probably head to Vietnam for a super interesting press trip (still in the planning, though). We’ll see. I am so thankful for all the opportunities I get!

#homeoflässig | The last ski weekend in Saalbach Hinterglemm

Saalbach Hinterglemm ski weekend. Happy weekend y’all! The sun is shining here in Berlin and I can’t wait to have lunch with my friends now. Yesterday’s event was very nice and I met a lot of new people and also blogger I’d been following since the day I started (hello !). More will follow next week!

If you were following a bit on Instagram you saw that I was in Saalbach Hinterglemm last weekend. We were so lucky with the weather. The first days we were quite tired and took it slowly. The wellness area was just perfect for it! On our last days we had the prettiest weather. Perfect to hit the slopes once again. Unfortunately, the snow was already super mushy but there were some slopes facing north, which were still great. However, even on 2095 metres above sea level it was also super warm. Saalbach Hinterglemm is a huge winter sports area combining 270 kilometres of prepared piste. And it was indeed amazing! Compared to the slopes we got in South Tyrol, which are also beautiful, they have so much longer downhill runs. We had a lot of fun. A little insider tipp is also the Hendlfischerei close to Asitzbahn in Leogang – a really hip alpine hut, which belongs to the Hotel.

I wish you a sunny day!

Hello Berlin | snake skin & breakfast in Kreuzberg

Good day, Berlin. I flew into Berlin yesterday and had a great evening with a close friend of mine. We had dinner at Papaya on Kantstraße, which was really good. As I got up at 4:15 yesterday morning, I was super tired in the evening and my eyes kept closing in the car. I woke up at ‘s place (best hotel in Berlin!!) this morning and we had a nice breakfast together at . I’ve already been there with  the last time we were here. I still need to prepare that recommendation for you. Therefore, a little glimpse of the lovely café up here today.

Finally a new iPhone case

Also, I’ve finally got a new iPhone case. I find it always so hard to pick one because there are so many beautiful options. I’ve recently come across this beautiful Richmond & Finch case, which I really love. I’ve had a marble phone case for years and I actually wanted a new one. On the other hand, it was time to choose a new style. Therefore, I went for an unsuspicious but still beautiful reptile case.

I’m actually in Berlin for this afternoon’s event and will fly back to Munich tomorrow afternoon. One of my best friends from Munich just texted me that she’ll be in Berlin tomorrow. So glad I get to see her before I’ll rush to the airport again. Right now, I have so little time to spend with my friends. Luckily, I’ve got a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon and will have breakfast with Irina and Conny on Sunday morning too.

#TGIF & have a wonderful day!

Up in the mountains. After five beautiful days in Austria I’m already en route to my next destinations: I’m going to spend the whole day in Munich today and I’m going to fly to Berlin in the evening, where I’ll stay until Saturday. Quick stop back in Munich and then I’ll jump on a plane again to… you’ll see (or get a glimpse here on my Instagram profile)!

Right now it is so hard to pick what to wear. In the morning it is still freezy while the temperatures are rising throughout the day. I couldn’t wait to take out my parkas again. In fact, it’s even harder to wait when I’ve got a new model hanging in my wardrobe. I picked this gorgeous Esprit parka last week and I absolutely love the patches on the sleeves. I’ve shown you my beloved Comma pullover a couple of times already, which is still on sale here. Combined to comfortable skinny jeans from Zara and some new slipper from Esprit it was a perfect look for the mountains. We took it really slowly this time! Therefore, no professional mountain shoes were needed – my Esprit slipper with swan print are such a cute accessory. That being said, I need to catch up on some work and need to run some errands here in Munich!

I wish you a wonderful day!

Top kitchen device addition – my Philips juicer

Juice addiction. A juicer has been on my kitchen item wish list for such a long time. I’d already been looking up various juicer models. Last year I got myself a new blender, this year it was about time to finally get a juicer. One investment after the other!

Philips is one of the brands I trust the most – clean design, effectiveness and a good value for money. For example, my Philips toaster is over 10 years old now and still works perfectly. When it comes to kitchen machines, the brand offers cheaper models, which are perfect for small households, but also premium ones. In fact, I still dally over the Slow Juicer from Philips (too expensive for me right now). Usually, I tend to invest in a premium machine, which will last longer and has more power. Therefore, my new Philips juicer HR1921/20 is a great compromise of a standard and premium model – medium size, steel and most importantly easy to clean.

The juicer comes in 6 pieces, which you can simply mount and dismantle after usage for cleaning. Before the juicing it is recommended to use the QuickClean function to prevent that pulp will stick to the inner side of the juicer. Turn it on level 2 and let some water pass through. Also, you can use this function to quick clean the juicer after usage. What I really like about the Philips juicer is the fact that there are two levels:

  • Level 1 for really clear juices
  • Level 2 for less pulp and more roughages

The only disadvantage is the diameter of the filling funnel and you need to cut some vegetables a little smaller. However, the power wins over.

above the easiest way to core pomegranates is in a bowl of water

It is said that you should use 2/3 of vegetables and 1/3 of fruit in your juices. However, before starting with my green juice recipes I tried a red juice first. The combination of pomegranate, beetroots and carrots is great for your sight. Therefore, the perfect drink for us computer people.
Juice recipe beetroot – carrot – pomegranate juice

For 1 glass of beetroot – carrot – pomegranate juice I used:

1 beetroot (best is not to use precooked ones)
2 carrots
half pomegranate

Add some olive oil and linseeds as topping. It’s a known fact that carrots contain Beta-carotenes, which need to be converted into Vitamin A in our bodies. Both natural pigments are fat-soluble. Therefore, any fat helps to extract the Vitamin A from the carrots in our bodies

Enjoy!
