Park Regis Kris Kin Dubai – where to stay in Dubai

Park Regis Kris Kin Dubai. Hotels are a dime a dozen in Dubai and you may lose the overview soon. You’ll find everything from super run down places, to comfortable AirBnBs up to luxurious hotels. Dubai isn’t the cheapest spot on earth and we’ve already thought of booking a holiday package. We’ve noticed that it is quite cheaper instead of booking all separately. But staying in a nice hotel got super important for me. You may now think that you won’t spend much time in the hotel. My last travels showed that I spent more time at the hotel than I thought. All in all, we tested three different hotels of different categories. In the end, we weren’t sure which one we liked most. We spent the first night at the 5* stars hotel Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai.

Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai

The Park Regis Dubai is a large business hotel in the North of Dubai. We landed super late on our first day and were so happy that the hotel was only a 15 minutes’ drive away from the airport. The location of the hotel was perfect as the next metro station Burjuman was only a 10 minutes’ walk away. In 20 minutes you could get to Dubai Downtown and the train takes you in 15 minutes to the Gold Soukh and Spize Bazaar. Don’t underestimate distances in Dubai. For example from the North of Dubai it will take you approximately 50 minutes to the Emirates Mall by train. This is why we booked different hotels in different locations.

Park Regis Dubai The rooms

We stayed in one of the beautiful Deluxe Twin Rooms and had two cozy king size beds. I’ve rarely slept so well in a business hotel. The room was quite big with around 40m2 and had a modern bathroom with shower and separated bathtub. One point I have to remark is the plan of the bathroom. The shower was right next to the bathroom door, which had to be closed in order to open the shower door. The Deluxe Twin Rooms are located on the 11th – 16th floor and our room was facing west. I find the price for a 5* star hotel quite reasonable. In fact, the superior rooms already start from 110€ per night exclusive breakfast.

A Deluxe Twin Room starts from 650 AED / night (around 170€ / night)

Park Regis Dubai The rooftop terrace & Spa

We spend most of the time on the stunning rooftop terrace of Park Regis Kris Kin. While it was super crowded in the morning and around lunch, it was super calm in the evening. We were the only ones at the pool.We didn’t know that the sun would set already at 5:30 pm and that it gets dark super fast. The evening atmosphere was so beautiful and the view onto the skyline of Dubai Downtown is amazing. Luckily, the temperatures remained warm thus we spent the evening along the pool and relaxed at the whirlpool or sauna. How pleasant are a couple of hours of spa on a city trip?

Park Regis Dubai Breakfast buffet

Breakfast was served at the French brasserie LeMetro. I was already super excited for the buffets in the UAE because I knew that they would have an international breakfast offer. Next to a continental buffet they also had some Asian specialties, such as dim sum but also Oriental dishes. I always started the day the English way with baked beans, sausage and hash browns. AfterwardsI tried the other dishes of the buffet.

Park Regis Dubai Kris with a View

You’ll find a great variety of restaurants in Dubai. However, most of the restaurants and clubs are located in hotels because it is super hard for normal restaurants to get a license for alcohol. On our last evening, we were super tired and treated ourselves with a dinner at the wonderful Kris Kin with a View restaurant. Not for nothing is it called With A View. The restaurant is located on the 19th floor and has a 360° panorama view.

Most of the hotels offer theme evenings with buffet. Likewise the Park Regis Kris Kin:

  • Monday: Pot Around (145 AED)
  • Tuesday: Ochi Sushi Night (155 AED)
  • Wednesday: Seafood Night (130 AED)
  • Thursday: Pan Asian Night (165 AED)
  • Friday: Indian-Malaysian Flavours or Taste of Asia Friday Brunch (135 AED)
  • Prices range from 33 – 45€

here you’ll find an overview of the theme nights

I’m a huge fan of Indian cuisine and the Indian-Malaysian Flavours evening was perfect for us. The Indian specialties were really good and we could try some new dishes I’ve never tasted before. However, I was a little bit disappointed of the Malaysian dishes. They seemed more Indonesian to me and for example Nasi Goreng was offered. The dishes tasted good but not as authentic as I’d remembered them from my trip to Bali. Full and satisfied we enjoyed the great view onto the skyline of Dubai Downtown one last time. A perfect ending!

One week in Dubai – what to see | Part 1

One week in Dubai. Is it really worth to visit Dubai for a whole week? My dear friend (check out her too) has already visited the United Arab Emirates and confirmed that one week was perfect (minus the two travelling days we were 5 days in Dubai). At first glance, what could be to visit in such an artificially built city? Nonetheless in one week in Dubai we saw quite a lot. Here is what we’ve done in a week (you can do it all more packed – we loved to have long breakfasts). This is what one week in Dubai could look like.

One week in Dubai DAY 1 – Dubai Mall

We spend the first afternoon at the Dubai Mall in Dubai Downtown. The malls are huge in the UAE and we wanted to get an idea immediately. With a sales area of 350,000 m2 it is the largest shopping mall in the world. In fact, it felt like you could be shopping there for three weeks. The walking distances are so long!

One of the reasons for or visit were the attractions of the Dubai Mall. There are:

  • Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo – one of the biggest underwater world with 33.000 sea animals. Starting from 100 AED (around 26€)
  • Dubai Ice Rinkcosts 60 AED (around 16€) for 2h
  • A waterfall
  • The Emirates A380 Experience – Airbus flight simulation in the biggest airplane of the world. Starting from 375 AED (around. 96€)
  • Reel Cinemas
  • Food Court – absolutely not to recommend. There are a lot of cheap and bad fastfood chains. In the underground you’ll find better restaurants.
  • Lots of shops – we could control ourselves

One week in Dubai DAY 2 – Mall of the Emirates

We spent the second day in the next mall – the Mall of the Emirates. This was definitely our last visit to a mall as we both aren’t such big fans of malls. Our stay was much shorter this time as we only wanted to see the ski lope. Compared to the Dubai Mall it is a better designed and more elegant one. The Asisan chain Din Tai Fung has opened a branch in the Emirates Mall and we went there for lunch (find a more detailed recommendation here). You won’t need more than 2-3 hours there!

One week Dubai DAY 3 – Burj Khalifa & Desert Safari

A visit without the Burj Khalifa? Definitely not possible. We booked our tickets easily with getyourguide.de and could thus skip the waiting line. Our tickets cost around 37€, which is quite a lot but it was absolutely worth it. The view from the 124th floor was quite impressive. You see skyscrapers springing up surrounded by super low housing. Although they are already super high themselves, they seem very small when looking from the 124th floor.

Breakfast love | weekend with a Cortado Oatmeal & NESCAFÉ

Nescafé Dolce Gusto Eclipse _ Kapselmaschine _ Nescafé Kapseln
EN
Cortado Oatmeal. Cortado Oatmeal. Finally weekend! My week more intense workwise than I’d expected. A lot of you may’ve just come back from your ski holiday or back from the sun or from back home. On Monday the usual working days will start again. Monday is hell for you? Waking up even harder when it’s still dark outside? The answer is coffee.
Right now I’m testing the new NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Eclipse, which makes a great fit in my new living room. Yes, I’ve got a little interior crisis two days ago and rearranged the whole living room (here you can see old pictures). Why haven’t I done that before? Looks so much better! As I said, 2017 is going to be a year of changes! I moved the dining table right next to the window and turned it around. Like that I could place my Nescafé Eclipse on the table. Always at hand for a hot latte macchiato in the morning or Chococino in the afternoon ( I love it). The good thing about it is that I don’t have to go to the kitchen any longer to get milk. I hadn’t thought that an automatic coffee machine would be that handy.

Nescafé Dolce Gusto Eclipse De’Longhi

Having a coffee machine in this size you should be a 100% in love with the design. The NESCAFE® Dolce Gusto® ECLIPSE in black metal is definitely one of my favourite models from NESCAFÉ and is also a stylish interior piece. When my roommate saw the machine first he thought it would be speakers. No my dear! He was even happier when I told him that it was a coffee machine. The Nescafé Dolce Gusto Eclipse has hidden water tank to the right and is easy to handle via touchscreen. It works super fast and is easy to close after use.

The Eclipse is currently 50€ off!

For preparing your coffee you’ll need two capsules – one with the coffee and the other one with the milk (or you drink it black). I always have the capsules ready next to the machine and I can easily brew fresh coffee while working on my computer. However, I can drink coffee only until noon otherwise I’ll be sleepless the whole night. Therefore, I love the Chococino and Nesquik capsules in the afternoon. I’ll have to try the Decaffeinato soon too! Yesterday when I got home from my long walk I was absolutely freezing. A hot Chococino was so good!

Nescafé Dolce Gusto Eclipse _ Kapselmaschine _ Nescafé Kapseln

Last but not least I have great breakfast recipe for you – a Cortado Oatmeal. Ever heard of Cortado? Cortado isn’t just one of Nescafé’s coffee variations but also a way of drinking coffee in spain. In fact, it’s like a Macchiato but with more milk. In Bolzano they now serve it under Macchiatone. I found the recipe on Nescafés Website and had to try it. I’d never gotten the idea of preparing my oatmeal with coffee. Perfect wake up kick in the morning! And together with berries, bananas and superfoods it’s super healthy too! Exactly my thing.

Nescafé Dolce Gusto Cortado Oatmeal Recipe
  • 200 ml milk (also with almond or soy milk)
  • 100 g oatmeal
  • 1 NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Cortado Espresso Macchiato
  • 2 tbsp cacao (optional)
  • 2 tbsp maple sirup
  • 1 tsp Chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cacao to sprinkle
  • various fruits, I took blackberries, blueberries with banana, goji berry and cranberries

Heat the milk in a pan and add the oatmeal. As soon as they’re cooked in and soft add the Cortado coffee and some maple sirup and cacao. Afterwards you’ll garnish it with fruits and superfood. Easy peasy right?

Tell me if you’ve tried it! I’m curious what you’ll think!

Have a wonderful (hopefully not too frosty) Saturday!

Restaurants in Munich | Bellevue München at Nordbad

EN

Bellevue München. And here comes the first restaurant/café recommendation of the new year. For my master project I redesigned the Karstadt at Nordbad in Munich. This is how I found the lovely Restaurant/Café BELLEVUE München. Who had thought that there was a little hidden gem – perfect position at the Nordbad and only a few minutes from Hohenzollernplatz. Together with and I tried the new place and I absolutely loved the ambience.

Bellevue München

The BELLEVUE München is the latest project of the I LOVE LEO guys. With a whole new concept they redesigned the old Café am Nordbad. The restaurant/café/bar is open since 1st June and is open until late. During summer time it is always super crowded, because the terrace of BELLEVUE is allowed to stay open until 1:00, which is super rare for Munich. Perfect also for food and drinks with friends! The restaurant/café/bar is divided into to spaces, which are connected. What I liked the most is that everything is wide and open. Some of Munich restaurants are always super tiny. The interior has a touch of Scandinavia with black and white wallpapers. I loved the combination of the light wooden chairs in combination with the white, grey, black chairs. The business associates Johannes von Hoyos, Sigurd Kodal and Florian Fischer have designed all by themselves. Sigurd Koda is in charge of that everything goes smoothly.

Bellevue München Breakfast, lunch, dinner & drinks

On the menu you’ll find mediterranean dishes but also meals with Bavarian influence. As a starter we shared one of the cold places, the artichoke salad with lemon, grilled pepper, feta and roasted pine nuts (6,80€). Irina chose some steamed buns and Lisa took the braised beef with potato mash, glacéed carrots and red wine sauce (16,80€). The braised beef has already built a reputation and a lot of people come here to order it. My hunger was a little bit bigger and I ordered the huge club sandwich with salmon, avocado and egg accompanied with fries (11,80€). I love the fact, that they also serve American inspired dishes and not a lot of places offer more variations of sandwiches.

They also offer breakfast at BELLEVUE. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried it yet. The looks really good. Next to various baked goods they also offer various breakfast variations (3,90 – 11,00€). If you prefer to stop by just for some coffee or drinks you’re more than welcome. I will relocate my home office there soon.

The actual first look. I did my make up so well that day and the sunlight swallowed it all up. You may know that professionals put so much more make up on for photoshootings. Anyway I like more natural looks better. And how the title discloses this was the first real look of the year.

Winter uniform black Duvetica Jacket

Right before Christmas this beautiful black Duvetica jacket was delivered. Perfect Christmas present. Since I got the yellow model in summer I’m an even bigger fan of the brand. I’ve had one’s fill of showing it during the summer. A black model was definitely missing in my down padded jacket collection. Duvetica is a premium brand and the jackets are indeed quite expensive. I highly recommend to try one of their models and you’ll feel how great they are. The quality is amazing and the jackets are super light. My Duvetica jacket is cut quite slim, which makes a nice figure. I combined my ripped jeans from Gina Tricot and my current favourite ankle boots from Made by Sarenza.

Custom-made Embroidery Internodiciotto

One more highlight is the tee and the beanie from , the label of my dad’s cousin. She custom makes t-shirts, beanies, jeans jackets and much more with beautiful embroidery. She always loved to craft stunning pieces. I still remember some of her first pieces and my aunt got me one of her clutches, which I’ve shown you here.
