Office Update. We’ve been living for 1 year and 41 days now in our flat. As a matter of fact, the title Our new flat is no longer correct. My last interior post was a while ago. Meanwhile a lot of new interior stuff moved into the flat and there are some parts that I haven’t shown you yet. I absolutely love the flat and we couldn’t be happier. Today I can finally reveal my little working space.
Our new homenew work space
Even though our living room is quite big we decided to get a large dining table. Therefore, there is no space for a small working area. However, I found some space in our bedroom, which is perfectly lightened. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a larger table and it wasn’t so easy to find a small one. Luckily, Westwing Now had some pretty and affordable models and I chose this one called VALLEZ. With a width of 80cm (31 1/2’’ inch) it fits perfectly next to my bed. I absolutely love its American style with the steel elements and the white gloss part on top. It goes well together with my standing lamp. Next to the desk I also ordered a Mongolian lamb fur for the chair (which I will replace with my beloved SKRUVSTA swivel chair from IKEA). I now realize that there’s lots of grey our bedroom but not too much.
choice of screen
A couple of weeks ago I finally got myself an external screen. I was fed up with working on my tiny 13’’ MacBook screen. Moreover, a bigger screen adds some home office feeling. And I work so much better! A photographer friend recommended the EIZO screens, which are professional ones for photographers. One of the main reasons I wanted a screen was for drawing CAD and to edit my photos. So pleasant right now! I got myself an Eizo EV2450-BK in grey. At first glance the 23,8’’ seemed a bit small (especially because I wanted to watch movies on it too) but the size is perfect for everyday working.
Screen supplies
Getting a screen may cost a lot of money because you also have to get a lot of supplies:
MINI DISPLAYPORT (your computer needs to be connected to the screen) – g. CLS-Computer here | 10,85€
KEYBOARD (I love the old Apple keyboard) – Apple MB110D/B Keyboard here | 62,90€
MOUSE (I’d already had one but it works via USB, which is why I had to get a USB-hub) – e.g Logitech M185 mouse here | 12,89€
USB-HUB (because of point 2 & 3 I got an USB-hub which organized my whole cable clutter. beware: external disks are too strong) – g Aukey 3.0 USB Hub here | 11,99€
EXTERNAL SOUND SYSTEM (working with music is so much better. Unfortunately, the EIZO’s sound system is not the best, which is why I connected my sound system.) – e.g. JBL On Beat Venue LT Dockingsystem here| 160,98€
Never ending love story. Good morning! I’m back from a wonderful weekend in Sölden. I’d actually planned this post for Saturday but my computer struggled with the internet. Better late than never. A lot of pictures are already up on Instagram (@thegoldenbun) and more will follow. Moreover, I filmed a lot for you and hopefully my first Follow Me Around Video will go online soon. I’m excited what you’ll think. By the way, did you see my last video from Lisbon?
But shortly back to Munich. I wanted to shoot on our uni’s rooftop terrace in such a long time. Down the memory lane. In fact, my university career started right there six years ago. We spent the first two semesters in the ateliers up there on the 5th floor. The first semesters were clearly the hardest ones. Of course, we had to get used to the new working rhythm and had to pull a couple of all-nighters. At least the sun rises were beautiful, we celebrated up here and let the evenings fade away on the terrace. I’m going to stop right now before I’ll get too emotional. Regarding the title lace dresses are definitely one of my weaknesses. Jeans and lace also go really well together and the high heeled sandals add the elegance.
Sanpellegrino Aperitivo. September in Köln.

Stella McCartney Falabella. Lovelies! Today I’m back with an outfitpost from Munich. In fact, up here on the blog it seems that I’m never home. Last week I met up with my favorite Olga to shoot a couple of her maternity looks in this great morning light. I seized the change and shot my look too. My lovely Stella McCartney Falabella has been really well received lately on Instagram. Unfortunately, I seldomly wear this stunner. It’s beautiful, no question! But the chains can get really heavy if you’re carrying a lot in it. In fact, I’m always really happy when I can hang it up on my bike. However, I could never ever give it away (especially because it was a gift for my bachelor degree from me to myself. Wow, that was already two years ago and I’m excited which bag will move in for the celebration of my master degree. I just love Céline bags and I’m still eyeing with the Céline Belt Bag). Today I also show you my new nude pumps from Mango. Usually I prefer to buy more expensive and high quality shoes, which I never wear in the end. That’s the reason why I decided to get these from Mango. They’re inexpensive, not too high and still beautiful. I’m definitely trying not to buy a lot of shoes because my shoeshelf (more my shoe drawer) is nearly exploding. And it’s not that high heels would be the problem. But I was craving a pair of nude heels for a long time and suddenly found them.
This week it’s all about my master project and I’ll get to present it to the professor. I’m going to hand in the project at the end of September. So there is still some time but not too much. Afterwards I’m driving to Sölden in Austria with my mom for the weekend. I can’t wait to go hiking, doing some spa and having great food. It’s been quite a while that we haven’t done this together. Of course, a post will follow next week!
The Lisbon Guide. Yes, one more point off the travel bucket list! Lisbon feels already like ages ago and it took me quite some time to go through the amount of pictures I took. Before I’ll overload you with tons of pictures I’ve chosen a few spots we really liked. Moreover, I’m thinking to write a post about all the expenses of the city trip, if you’re interested. Let me know!
Here are a couple of activities we’ve done and I added a couple of addresses we didn’t have time for.
The Lisbon GuideSTROLL THROUGH GRAÇA & ALFAMA
On our first day we walked so much – up and down and up and down. Even though everybody advised me to bring comfortable walking shoes I wasn’t really prepared. Our Airbnb was approximately 25 minutes walk from Praça do Comércio (let’s say it’s one of the most central square). We took a long stroll through the Alfama neighbourhood, passed the Catedral Sé Patriarcal and walked up to the Castelo de S. Jorge. In the end, people seemed to queue for such a long time to visit the castle, which is why we decided to walk down to the Praça da Figueira, Praça Dom Pedro IV and walked up to Bairro Alto.
Lisbon is absolutely beautiful to see from above. We found a couple of spots which were really beautiful.
Arco da Rua Augusta (2.50€)
Miradouro da Senhora do Monte (public square)
Terrace of Basilica da Estrela (4€)
Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara (public square)
Elevador de Santa Justa (5€)
Portas do Sol (Café)

The Lisbon GuideWHERE TO SHOP
One morning we discovered the area around Intende metro station. We had breakfast at Largo Estudio (more will follow in my food post) and visited the beautiful concept store A Vida Portuguesa. We definitely left a couple of spots for our next time. Lisbon has so many more cool stores, e.g. the LX Factory (where you could spend the whole day), Embaixa Concept store close to Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, Entre Tanto (an indoor market with various designer) or Fashion Clinic (luxury concept store).

The Lisbon GuideDISCOVER BAIRRO ALTO
I’d heard that Bairro Alto is one of the hippest neighborhoods. However, it was surprisingly calm during the day. It was quite hard to find open restaurant because apparently, it all opens up during the evening and night. One night we had dinner at Taberna da Rua das Flores (so delicious, you have to go there) and ended up in a crowded street full of bars and super cheap drinks. We had a couple of XL mojitos for 6€ each and met a couple of nice guys who happened to be French too.

The Lisbon GuideBASILICA DA ESTRELA
The area around Basilica da Estrela seemed to be more like a residential area. Next to it you’ll find the beautiful Parc de Estrela, which is definitely an oasis of calm. The parc is really beautiful and has some lovely fountains. The Basilica da Estrela is a wonderful neoclassical building with a giant dome. The light inside is beautiful and I highly recommend to climb up to the terrace (4€). The view is amazing and moreover you can walk around the rotunda.
The Lisbon GuideCRISTO REI
You cannot miss a visit to Lisboa without having seen the famous Cristo Rei. You’ll have a beautiful view over the Ponte 25 de Abril and the Tejo river. An elevator takes you up to the 80m high platform of the Cristo (5€)
HOW TO GET THERE. Take an Uber (~13-17€) | take the ferry from Cais do Sodre and then catch bus 101 (~3.5€)
The Lisbon GuideWHERE TO GO TO THE BEACH
We wanted to go the beach at least once. Therefore, we decided to combine our visit of the Cristo Rei and drive to the Costa da Caparica (the taxi ride cost 7€). The coast on the other side of the Tejo river is really beautiful and quite calm. There aren’t a lot of tourists and you’ll find lovely beach bars. Generally speaking, you should beware that the water in whole Portugal is freakin’ cold. Nonetheless, as soon as you’re in you’ll get used to it. Here are some of the beautiful beaches near Lisbon:
Costa da Caparica: Uber costs around 30€ / bus lines 161 from Praça do Areeiro (single ticket 3.2€ | time table here)
Cascais: train from Cais do Sobre (return ticket for 4.50€)
Praia da Ursa | best way to reach it via car or scooter
There are some beautiful cities around Lisbon that can be easily reachable by train. I’d heard that Sintra is super touristy but I wanted to see the beautiful city, which is classified as UNESCO World Heritage since 1995. We took a 4.5€ return ticket to Lisbon early in the morning. There are a lot of sights to visit and distances may little bit farther than you’ll expect.
GETTING AROUND. There are busses that run between one sight and the other, which cost 5€ per day. However, there was a long waiting line to get on the bus and we decided to walk into the city, which took us 15 minutes. Uber is surprisingly cheap in whole Portugal and works really well. Being a bigger group we preferred to order a car (3-4€ per ride).
WHAT TO SEE. We visited the Castelo dos Mouros and Palácio Nacional da Pena (20.90€ for both sights). I absolutely loved the view from the castle while the Palácio Nacional da Pena is something you either hate or love. The architecture is just not for everybody and the view is quite the same as from the Castelo dos Mouros. What we missed to see is Quinta da Regaleira, which is one of the most beautiful gothic building in the city (entrance free is 6€). Moreover, I wanted to see the Monserrate Palace, which is a beautiful palace influenced with North African and Indian designs.
Note: Be prepared to walk a lot when in Sintra. It’s a 800m walk to the castle from the ticket office and around 1km to the entrance of the palace. As soon as you’ll reach the entrance of the Palácio Nacional da Pena you have to walk all the way up to the hill (there’s a bus for 3€ that takes you up).
I hope you enjoyed reading my Lisbon Guide. Of course, there are still so many places (especially restaurants) that we haven’t tried. I’ll definitely come back soon.
