Deauville. While the rest of our group stayed in Trouville we discovered the city nearby. Fell immediately in love with this cute and chic sea resort. Deauville is known for its harbour, international film festivals, villas, Grand Casino and more. People call it the „queen of the Norman beaches“. In honor to known movie stars the city decorated the railings in front of the beach changing rooms with names of famous actors and actresses. Besides that Deauville is also noted for the colorful umbrellas, which you find on a lot of paintings. Moreover, I found out that Coco Chanel opened her first store there. And how cute is that Louis Vuitton store? Definitely my favorite house.

Deauville. Während der Rest der Reisegruppe im Örtchen nebenan blieb, haben wir uns Deauville angesehen und ich habe mich sofort in diesen süßen Ferienort verliebt. Deauville ist ein sehr schickes Städtchen und bekannt für seine Film Festivals, Villas, Grand Casino und vieles mehr. Deshalb wird es auch „queen of the Norman beaches“ genannt. Besonders charakteristisch für den Ort sind zum einen die süßen Strandhäuschen, deren Zäune mit Namen von berühmten Schauspielern gekennzeichnet wurden. Desweiteren findet man auf vielen Bildern auch diese bunten Regenschirme, die im Sommer geöffnet und zu Kabinen umgewandelt werden können. Modisch hat der Ort auch sehr viel zu bieten und so hat Coco Chanel dort ihren ersten Store eröffnet. Und wie süß ist denn bitte dieser Louis Vuitton Store? Honfleur. Moules et frites are a must-eat when you are in the Normandy and especially when you are so close to the sea. Our stay in Honfleur was short, but enough time for a quick lunch. There are a lot of restaurants with various prize ranges. Le Champlain offers moules et frites with a beer or a quarter of white wine for 11,50€ – 15,60€. I chose the traditional ones prepared in white vine with onions. I love sea food.

Auch wenn wir nur kurz in dem netten Örtchen waren, hatte wir Zeit um ein typisches Gericht zu essen. In Honfleur reiht sich ein süßes Lokal neben dem anderen und wir haben uns dann für Le Champlain entschieden. Besonders toll sind die Mittags- und Abendmenus – sehr typisch für Frankreich. Für 11,50€ – 15,60€ kann aus verschiedenen Variationen von moules et frites auswählen und bekommt noch ein kleines Bier oder Weißwein dazu. Ich habe mich für die traditionelle Variante in Weißwein und Zwiebeln zu bereitet entschieden. Ich liebe Muscheln!
