This was definitely one of the coolest experiences lately. Deep inside I knew I was a little racing girl. I’ll definitely have to change profession now and be able to buy a cool sports car.
Some of you may have followed this day in my Instagram Stories. I drove a Lamborghini Aventador for the first time. I’m still excited when writing this. It’s actually not the first time sitting in a car of that category. Unfortunately I was way too young when my dad once borrowed a Ferrari. Moreover, it’s not the same when you drive.
Just look at this beauty. Ok, the price is horrendous but I totally understand why. Every detail is perfectly designed. Can we simply agree on the fact that it’s just one masterpiece of a car?
Driving aLAMBORGHINI AVENTADORfor the first time
I got so many requests why I was able to drive a Lambo. My cousin’s father is a car dealer. Back in the days he used to sell more Ferraris in the higher price class. Now he’s focusing more on Lamborghini as the demand began to rise.
And yes! It was a lot of fun. As soon as you press the pedal it’s just full power. The acceleration within a few seconds is just crazy. Luckily, you can actually drive these cars here because there is no speed limit on German highways.
Happy Sunday everyone! I’ve had a blast with my girlfriends on the weekend so far. I’m catching up with you with one of my latest flower print total look. I’ve rediscovered my beautiful pumps and try to take them out more often here in Berlin, in this sneaker-orientated city. These slacks are definitely my favorite trousers to go right now. I love the cut and they’re perfect for work. I’ll have to check if they’re available in other prints too. Enjoy your Sunday!
Mauritius is a beautiful island to visit – not only to relax but it also offers a lot of activities for your perfect holiday. Let me introduce you to 6 fun activities you shouldn’t miss on Mauritius!
The famous Île Aux Cerfs is nowadays covered with a private golf course. Having its name from the beautiful deers, which used to live on the island. There are a couple of wild deers still living there but they’re super shy. We’ve enjoyed some beautiful hours on the island and were privileged to stay at the private strecht of the Long Beach – A Sun Resort. The public beach was quite crowded but still beautiful as you’ll see below.
TAKE A MAURITIAN COOKING CLASS with local market visit
A week on Mauritius doesn’t get boring at all. We booked a cooking class through our hotel, the Long Beach – A Sun Resort. Executive chef Prakash Seetul (picture below) took us on avegetable and meat shopping tourat the local Marché de Flacq. You know how much I love markets. Afterwards we returned to the hotel’s kitchen and heated the stove. We cooked a delicious lamb stew along with some typical Mauritian specialities. Delicious!

Explore PORT LOUIS
To discover more of Mauritius we booked a driver who took us to the capital of Mauritius, Port Louis. The city is quite industrial in my opinion and you’ll see the mix of cultures. However, there is not much to be seen. We drove up to the Citadel Fort Adelaide to get a glimpse over the city and then headed down to the port. All in all, not really a lot to see there.

Buy some VANILLA!
If there is one useful souvenir from Mauritius, then it’s vanilla. It’s indeed half the price than in Europe. However, you should be careful when buying vanilla.
BEWARE! We bought a pre-packed package and half of the vanilla pods were already scratched out – stupid tourist mistake!
Visit thePAMPLEMOUSSES BOTANICAL GARDEN
You definitely can’t miss the beautiful Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, also called Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere. Unfortunately, we caught some bad weather but the garden was still beautiful to walk through. There are some super old species of ebonies, sugar cane, palms and bamboo which are just too beautiful. Very famous is indeed the large waterlily pond.
Drive Northwards toCAP MALHEUREUX
Cap Malheureux is quite a famous spot for partying and there are a lot of cute boutiques. However, it was quite calm when we were there in the afternoon (of course also due to low season). The North felt a lot more authentic and relaxed – just like Mauritian people are. There are a lot of beautiful public beaches and you can also visit the famous church with the red roof, Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice de Cap Malheureux.

Of course, there are plenty more activities which you can do on Mauritius. We took it quite relaxed but there are lots of sports activities to do. Moreover, there are gorgeous waterfalls you can visit and the Seven Earths in Chamarel (which we skipped as it seems to be quite a touristic spot). I hope you’ve enjoyed these recommendations.
Mauritius – a dream to visit for many people. In fact, especially for newlyweds it is one of the most popular destinations. I can totally understand this. Just look at that pure white sand and the marvelous turquoise water on the picture below. A pure dream!
My mom and I were invited by the Long Beach Mauritius to discover the most beautiful coastline of Mauritius. Along with Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius it offers the perfect stay with a big offer of sport activities but also with culinary spoiling. But more in a bit!
We checked into our modern suite with sea view onto a private beach. The suites are all modernized and have a large bathroom with everything you’ll need.
Book any room on their website and get free Wi-Fi internet, free selected watersports and free golf green fees at the Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club.

A little treat every evening – the pastry cook is a genius!
Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius BREAKFAST
Never leaving out breakfast! In general, the food at Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius is great! They have various types of cuisine for breakfast, such as continental, Asian but also Oriental. I always started the morning with a good Latte Macchiato, some fresh coconut, fruits and more or a hot soup for breakfast. I love that!
an apple (or how it’s on Mauritius:) a coconut a day, keeps the doctor away!
The Shores Bar is always crowded in the evening. We also enjoyed some calm moments in the morning or had a fresh coconut there. So delicious! Also, it was the perfect place to work sitting at one of the high tables and looking onto the sea!
Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius Lunch by the beach
The creole curries are definitely dishes you can’t miss when eating on Mauritius! We mostly enjoyed lunch at Tides Restaurant, the beachfront bar. You can also lunch at the buffet restaurant. The best thing at Tides is that you can have lunch with your feet in the sand – so nice! The menu offers a mix of Creole delicacies but also some ‘down-to-earth’/ club dishes like burger, club sandwich, various types of pasta.
of course I had to try the burger too – delicious!and to conclude one of the best Crème Brûlèes we’ve had. I’ve told you, the pastry chef is a genius!
Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius THE INFINITY POOL
We enjoyed most of our time at the beach although it was quite windy by the end of August. In fact, summer was about to start. During our stay there were a lot of families in the hotel but they stayed mostly at the large pool. The infinity pool is an adults only zone, which was the perfect place to relax. Especially after 5 pm other guests have mostly left and went back to their rooms. We had it nearly all to ourselves.
… and then the sky turned pinkish!
Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius DINNER CHOICE – Italian, Panasian, Japanese … not limit!
Spending a week or two in a resort may get boring when having a buffet dinner every day. Not at Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius! They have five different restaurants:
Italian Restaurant Sapori
The Panasian restaurant Chopsticks
The Japanese restaurant Hasu
Tides, the Seafood restaurant
and their buffet restaurant Le Marché
Chopsticks
Our favorite restaurant was chopsticks where we ate two times. Chef Ritesh Dawoojee(picture below) prepared a special menu for our first night, which was very delicious. Flavorful and creative kitchen!
Look at this beauty – the pastry chef’s desserts were not only beautifully made but also very delicious!
Hasu
Hasu is one of the best Japanese restaurants on Maritius, which you can also book if you’re not a guest of the hotel.

Another morning… another day at the beautiful blue sea and white heaven beach
the water was so beautiful crystal clear
some hidden relaxing areas close by the spa
My favorite part of the Long Beach – A Sun Resort Mauritius was its remarkable architecture. The use of local materials creates a unique experience and dreamy holiday. I felt so relaxed when I got home and was swooning over the beautiful island for a while.
A huge thank you for the nice and welcoming staff at Long Beach Mauritius. You’ve made our stay unforgettable!
A spring cleaning was definitely high on my list in the past weeks. A sudden redecorate mode came over me. First up – my bedroom. To be honest, I tried to avoid buying at IKEA in the first place. However, shipping times and money made it just easier to shop there. On the other hand, my room was emotionless, just white and boring. Long story short, I was looking for something warmer, fresher, more grown-up (if you know what I mean).
I’m a huge fan of a Scandinavian bed and that style matches perfectly with the apartment. With the new launch of the new eve2 mattress it was the perfect opportunity for a revamp of the bed area together with eve sleep.
When my order arrived I didn’t expect it to be designed so lovely and caring. Starting already with the whole packaging, which is thoroughly thought through. Their whole story is all about “sleep”. E.g. the interior of the mattresses boxes have quotes about sleeping, which you can reuse if you cut them and hang onto your walls. And so many more little details, which I didn’t expect.
Here’s a little behind-the-scenes-video:
The new eve 2 mattresses
The new eve 2 just came out with new 7 zones. In fact, they improved the spine alignment, which gives you support in all the right places. In general, foam sinks and absorbs your body where you need it most like shoulders, hips and ankles. Therefore, there is less pressure on your body. Moreover, it also helps breathability. I’ve decided to get two separate mattresses since it’s much easier to change the sheets and so on.
What I really like is that the top cover is easily removable with a zip and washable.
Moreover it’s certified by Oeko-Tex class 1, which means there are no harmful chemicals used.
90×200 mattresses cost 449€ and the 180×200 mattress costs 849€

The Scandinavian bed frame
I immediately fell in love with their bed frame design. I’ve opted for the version with the headboard, which is so much more comfortable now. It perfectly matches with my bedside table and the floor. The design is simple but really well made.
The 180×200 bed frame without headboard costs 699€
with headboard it costs 899€
The linen bedding – perfect for summer
Linen is perfect for summer as it cools your body while sleeping. I’ve never had a linen bedding before and I already love to sleep on it. The lovely part about the eve linen bedding is that they come in different colors, which you can easily flip around. I’ve taken the grey/white betting. The quality is definitely great and easy to wash.
