LA BIOSTHETIQUE Paris. When I was flying back from Mallorca I got a message from Evelyn of LA BIOSTHETIQUE saying that I should place on hold the 30th June for a next travel. No sooner said than done! For one of my favorite hair & beauty brands I’ll always find some free time. One month later I was sitting in the plane on the way to Berlin for a lovely pampering day with the brand. Who’s been reading my blog for a couple of years now you know how much I love the company.

La Biosthetique Get to know

LA BIOSTHETIQUE is a charming family company, which has salons everywhere on the world and their stylists work at known fashion events. The brand has already been existing since the 50s and was founded by Marcel Contier whose passion was to give his customers more than just hair. In fact, you’ll still feel this when entering one of the salons. The company is planning a lot of news … shuuush! they’ll release a vegan line soon (they already have an organic line!).

My story with LA BIOSTHETIQUE Paris dates back to my times in Paris nearly three years ago. The brand came to me and invited me to a backstage meeting with Talbot Runhof. More events together followed, I visited their salon in Paris, photographed backstage for them at Fashion Week and got a sneak-peek or the head-office in Paris. Up to recently when they invited me to Berlin.

All eyes on you Hair makeover with LA BIOSTHETIQUE

Axel Heumisch is a known photographer, who shot our before / after, such as the making off pictures. As you can see my hair was a little bit longer before. During the makeover my hair didn’t seem so much shorter. You only realize that a couple of days later. It was time to chop them off a little bit. The good thing with hair is that they’ll grow again (apparently 1cm per month). And you’d better get your hair cut from the professional, right?

I was definitely in good hands getting my hair cut and styled by Kathrin Zenk from Molar Berlin: perfect cut, great styling and pleasant talk while the makeover. Last but not least I got a pretty MAC make-up from Angelo and I was ready to shoot.

I couldn’t be happier with the result. My hair looks fresh and modern again. Unfortunately, Kathrin cut it too good that I need to jet to her every once in a while (thank you again!). Up to know I was never disappointed of the service of LA BIOSTHETIQUE. My friends already love the products, which I’ve swooned over for the past years.

A huge thank you for the invitation to the whole LA BIOSTHETIQUE team!

Over all. While you’re reading this I’ll be on my way to Barcelona. Chic Outlet Villages invited a bunch of blogger to discover the La Roca Village. I’ll tell you more soon.

I’ve been living in jumpsuit for the last weeks. Why haven’t I worn onepieces more often in the last years. They’re so comfortable and you’re immediately dressed. In fact, I’m wearing another overall for flying right now. The overall is from More & More and so is this lovely jacket with sequins.

Wish you a wonderful day!

June recap. Oh my god, hasn’t June just started? I was waiting for a couple events, travels and birthdays in June, which made it pass even quicker. Whenever I’m expecting something for months before it goes by even faster. June was great again. I went home to celebrate my mum’s birthday. Moreover, I’ve been in Slovenia with my boyfriend for a couple of days and was lucky to work on a lot of collaborations.

Monatsfavoriten BOUGHT

Oh yes! I finally got an icecream machine and I’m so lucky about it. I got it at the fleamarket for 2€ and it was completely new. This month I got myself this lovely broderie ruffle blouse and this gorgeous lace dress.

Monthly favorites READ

I wanted to read more books but I only managed to read one this month. I’ve enjoyed reading Summer Love by Katie FForde, which was a lovely lovestory with a surprising ending.

Monthly favorites SEEN

It’s been a while that I’ve taken the bus to come back to Munich from South Tyrol. The Flixbus Library wasn’t bad and I finally watched Juno with Ellen Page. The second movie I watched was Silver Lining Playbook with Bradley Cooper. Both great movies, which I highly recommend!

Monthly favorites PLANNED – TRAVEL

I’ll be traveling again for the next two weeks. In fact, I’ll be in Barcelona for the next two days. On Saturday I’ll be flying to Lisbon and Porto for a week. I definitely can’t wait! Can’t believe that I can already cross so many destinations from my bucket list. Any recommendations for Lisbon and Porto?

The Caribbean Embassy.

The Caribbean Embassy

The Caribbean Embassy Essen & Trinken

The Caribbean Embassy Hausgemachter Rum & viel Liebe

Kempinski Palace Portoroz – where to stay in Portoroz Piran

[Advertisement / Anzeige*]

kempinski palace portoroz 5*s hotel in slovenia
EN
Kempinski Palace Portoroz. I’m nearly halfway through my posts from Slovenia and I still haven’t shown you our stylish hotel, the 5 star superior Kempinski Palace Portoroz. As I mentioned in my post about Piran there are not many hotels and private stays there. Therefore, most people stay in Portoroz where you’ll find one hotel next to the other along the Portoroz seaside. It is quite a contrast when you’re coming from the charming village of Piran with it’s small alleys. However, Portoroz has some great sights, such as their largest and most modern yacht port along the Adriatic coast, a private airport and multiple casinos. Moreover, you’ll also find some historic hotels in Portoroz. There’s a category for every taste – from the camping site up to the five stars hotels. The 5* Kempinski Palace Portoroz, which is the only five-star-superior hotel in whole Slovenia.

Kempinski Palace Portoroz

The Kempinski Palace has been exisiting since 1910 and was designed by the famous Austrian architect Johannes Eustacchio. Back then it was one of the most beautiful and biggest hotels at the Adriatic coast. In the 80s it was placed under monumental protection. Moreover, the garden area had also been protected as as a Monument of Shaped Nature. It closed in the 80s-90s and finally reopened with the help of investors in 2008. Given the fact that the old building was protected it was hard to do renovations and combining it with a whole new extensions. The French designer Jean-Claude Laville did a great job and worked a lot with old elements but however creating something utterly new.

Kempinski Palace Portoroz The rooms

The old part of the Hotel Kempinski Palace has 104 rooms. We slept in the modern wing with 77 rooms. The our superior room with parc view was spacious and modern. Portoroz is called Portorose in Italian , which is why you’ll find the consistently. In fact, we had a huge rose wallpaper in our modern room.

The bed was super spacious and so comfortable – one of the best beds I’ve slept in so far. There only remark I had was in the bathroom. Given the fact that it was quite big I expected a little bit more storage next to the sink. On the other hand, it had all the facilities needed – bathtub, separate shower and bidet.

Superior room with parc view – 370€ / night

Kempinski Palace Portoroz Breakfast on the terrace

Breakfast is the best way to start into the new day and a good one will boost your day. The breakfast buffets offered a big continental breakfast. There was a lot of fresh fruit and various muesli option. The Kempinski Palace Portoroz had a big offer of various types of bread, which tasted so good. Moreover, fresh egg dishes were prepared at the open kitchen. Luckily, it was already warm enought to eat outside the terrace, which was so pleasant. But beware of the pigeons! The waiters are very attentive and kept an eye on our breakfast constantly because these birds have no shame.

Kempinski Palace Portoroz Restaurant Sophia

All in all, there are two restaurants in the building – restaurant Fleur de Sel in the new wing, the restaurant Sophia in the old part with an adjacent bar. Moreover you’ll find another bar in the upper floor. Our first evening started with a delicious dinner at the Restaurant Sophia. Such a beautiful interior! The menu was mainly based on fish and tasted really good. The kitchen was creative and inventive. Moreover, the wine matched perfectly to each dish.

Kempinski Palace Portoroz more facilities

The Kempinski Palace has a large outdoor pool and the Rose spa inside. You’ll find everything from Hamama, sauna up to private spa areas. Moreover, they have small shops in the old tract. The hotel is placed very central in Portoroz and the beach is only a two minutes walk across the street. There you’ll find more shops and various restaurants. A nice 40 minutes walk along the coast gets you to Piran, which is even better as you don’t need to worry about parking.

All in all, there is nothing more to complain and we had a wonderful time at the hotel there. I’d definitely recommend to come here again!
