Summerbowl. Right now I’m back on the track and trying to work out a lot. Luckily, one of my best friends and running partner moved around the corner and we can do if more often together. Before we’ve been working out a lot too but no one of us needs to take a bicycle anymore. So glad! Working out is a great change of work and university.

The only one point I’d need to change is my nutrition. I love eat well and a lot! However, I try to eat balanced but whenever I crave some carbs in the evening I don’t care. In my last Go On entry I’ve already told you more about my breakfast habits. Today I’m showing you one of great meal for your healthy mornings.

Since a couple of months I’m eating less dairy. I tend a lot replace milk with vegetable alternatives like almond drinks, coconutwater or -drinks. After all these years drinking milk they’re great alternative taste-wise too. My spelt flakes taste so good with a delicious almond milk.

A vegetable curd alternative (e.g. the new Alpro Go On) is essential for my breakfasts. Its healthy and boots your body. Especially when you’re working out a lot. Usually I add chia seeds or linseeds, other seeds or nuts. As topping just take any fruit your want. I’ve realised that this combination works pretty well. The fresh cherries sweeten the vegetable curd alternative, the passion fruit and kiwi give it some acid and bananas balance it all out with their creamy consistence.

Bon appetit!

The Slovenian riviera | Portorož & Piran

Advertisement*. Upon invitation of Portoroz / Piran Tourism!

Piran. Four days of rain and that during holidays. I was prepared for the worst. Four days of spa would have been quite in order, but after the second day it would have become rather dull. But the weather forecast had cocked a snook at us, as it misled us completely. During our car trip we were still thoroughly rinsed in Munich, but the more we approached the Slovenian border more and more clouds disappeared and arriving at Ljubljana the sun was shining. I could not believe it.

A girlfriend of mine lives in Ljubljana and after a small detour of 40 minutes we made a stop of a few hours at the Slovenian capital. What a nice town! Then we crossed the Slovenian part of Istria and arrived at our destination – Portoroz, Piran and surroundings

Vacation in Portoroz & Piran?

Who would have thought that after only 5 ½ hours from Munich you arrive at the seaside. The Slovenian coast is full of charm, indeed, and Piran is one of the main reasons, why I would return there.

To whom Piran seems very Italian, is not mistaken. In fact, that region belonged for centuries to the Venetian Republic.
Slovenia was part of the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy, until it became part of Yugoslavia in 1919. Only in the 1990ies it became a completely independent state. Until today an Italian minority lives there, but the Italians prefer the denomination ethnic group. Similar to South Tyrol everything i s bilingual – Italian and Slovenian kindergarten and schools as well as road and street signs.

Piran Sightseeing

The most famous place is the Tartini Squre named after the famous violinist Giuseppe Tartini, for whom a monument has been erected at the Town Square. From that place you can already see Piran’s Campanile. At its top stands Archangel Gabriel acting as weather reporter. When the mobile statue is looking toward Trieste, weather will get fine, looking toward Portoroz a thunder storm will come.

The shore is limited by heavy stone blocks. The water is very clear and has an unbelievable turquois color. In the summer tourists and locals lie on the stones and jump into the cool water. There is a real sand beach in neighboring Portoroz. As you surely know, Slovenia has only shingle beaches. The sandy beach at Portoroz is an artificial one.

Ultimately a small tip: The old town of Piran is car-free. Outside Piran there is a parking lot, from which a shuttle bus takes you into town. Otherwise there is also a transfer from Portoroz. Who stays overnight in Piran may enter by car for a short while. I can only recommend you an overnight stay. There are also less expensive bed and breakfast accommodations available.I hope you liked this article and discovered more about this gorgeous region!

My favorite aperitivo | Aperol The Sunny Side of Life

Aperol. I love aperitifs! They’re light, sometimes fruity, sometimes bitter. There is never a bad timing for having a delicious aperitif (ok, not super early in the morning but around 11am). If I’ve got one favorite drink then it’s Aperol Spritz. I’ve been drinking Hugo a couple of years but can’t drink it any longer. Hugo is super popular in the German speaking countries, which is a mix of prosecco, elder sirup and mint. Unforunately, it is way too sweet sometimes and I prefer a good Aperol Spritz ways better. I was so happy when my dad has brought me a 1,0 litre bottle of Aperol. They big ones only exist in Italy.

Aperol Spritz or Veneziano?

Coming from South Tyrol I’m used of calling the drink Veneziano. It’s so common that I didn’t realise that there was actually a difference between Veneziano and Aperol Spritz. In fact, a Veneziano is made out of prosecco while the classic Aperol Spritz comes with white wine. In Italy they also call it Spriz oder Sprisseto. Whenever I drink a good Veneziano it reminds me of the good times in Milano. Along with an Aperitivo Lungo where they serve the Spritz in dumbo cups.

The Sunny Side of Life is the current APEROL-campaign relating to the current weather situation. It motivates to stay positive no matter if it’s raining or good time. In the end it depends on yourself if you’ll be having a sunny day or not.

PHYSIOGEL – beauty products without scents

{Advertisement / Anzeige*}

Physiogel hautpflegeprodukte ohne Parfüm, Farbstoffe, Konservierungsmittel für trockene und empfindliche Haut
EN
Physiogel. Beauty products without perfume and dye stuffs have long been a topic for me. My skin is also dry and sensitive. But first you should realize how many different scents you wear on your body – the smell of body lotion, also your facial cream contains perfume and not to mention heavily smelling deodorants. Afterwards more perfume will be added and the perfect scent cloud is created. Of course, not all of this is healthy! The most important point is that perfumed creams irritate your skin. Since a few months I’ve been using the brand PHYSIOGEL, which isn’t using any of the three ingredients – NO perfumes, NO dye stuffs, NO preservatices.

The brand is part of the Stiefel-Gruppe, which has been existing since 1847. They’re experts in terms of skin health and skin care. Today the brand belongs to GSK and works closely with dermatologists and skin experts.

Which technology is PHYSIOGEL using?

Their creams and lotions contain their BioMimic Technology that closely matches the protective lipid layer of your skin helping it to repair and retain moisture. This is why it is ideal for allergy sufferer too!

Physiogel offers three different skin lines:
  • PHYSIOGEL Calming Relief
  • PHYSIOGEL Daily Moisture Therapy
  • PHYSIOGEL Scalp Care

PHYSIOGEL Daily Moisture Therapy – for sensitive and dry skin

I’ve started using Daily Moisture Therapy line first. I use the Daily Moisture Therapy Body Lotion nearly daily and I’m really happy with the product. The body lotions absorbs quickly and isn’t greasy. As I mentioned it doesn’t contain any perfumes. I also tried it on my boyfriend and he was really happy with the result.

PHYSIOGEL Scalp Relief – mild and sensitive shampoos for dry scalps

Also, super interesting for me is the Scalp Relief series. I tend to have a quite dry scalp and I’ve tried tons of products. Right now I’m using one but I’m not entirely happy with the result. One reason because people tend dry and itchy scalps is the use of aggressive styling products. You shouldn’t use those! They destroy the skin’s protective lipide barrier. This isn’t the case for me but good to know.
All in all, the line seemed great and I will definitely get it in the pharmacy next time. One more good thing about PHYSIOGEL is also that the prices are absolutely reasonable and everybody can buy them.
