While driving through Saalbach and Hinterglemm you’ll get the impression that the time has stopped there. The houses were very simple but with a couple of modern and newly built hotels in between. And then there was the driveway up to the WIESERGUT – the entry to another world. Simply beautiful!

Even though it was already season closing we couldn’t miss one last ski day. The weather was way too perfect. I’ve published more pictures from our ski day here!

5* Design Hotel Saalbach-Hinterglemm Wiesergut

But first let us have a look at the WIESERGUT. The architecture is clean and modest from the outside. I absolutely loved the wonderful combination of concrete, wood, glass and steel. The main building’s architecture sets off from its neighbours. It reminds me of an old manor. In con(s)trast, the lower part with the garden suites and the spa area is more adapted to the surrounding nature.

Inside you’ll feel immediately at home – the light stone walls in combination with the heavy wood floors along with the cozy Scandinavian furniture. One of my favorite elements were the beautiful lamps. Everything was inherently consistent.

A friendly receptionist welcomed us with a delicious homemade elder limonade and hot towels – the perfect refreshment. And for the little hunger some bread with farmer cheese and cress.

WIESERGUT Suiten

The WIESERGUT has 17 GutshofSuites and 7 GardenSuites. We slept in one of the GutshofSuites in the main building. When we entered our room my mom and I looked at each other and felt the same way – this is exactly how we would like to live. This instant feeling at home prevailed everywhere in the whole hotel. Our room was nice and bright. What I especially liked was that certain design elements will turn up again, i.e. the flower pattern on the room’s keys were also on the cladding inside the elevator but also inside the restroom. At first try, I found the beds quite a bit soft, but we slept really well.

WIESERGUT Spoiling program at the wellness area

We enjoyed the time at WIESERGUT to the fullest. A day at the spa was perfect. The “Bathhouse” was always open. Perfect to enjoy swimming some lenghts in the swimming pool or to lie in the daybeds watching the stars. There are no rules at WIESERGUT – like at your own home. In the lower part you’ll find the large swimming pool followed by the sauna, steaming batch and resting rooms in the upper part. Everything is beautifully designed and you don’t desire any further wellness facilities.

WIESERGUT Glücks-breakfast

The WIESERGUT ‘Glücks’-breakfast is served right to your table daily until 11am: an etagere will be brought with various cold cuts, vegetables, fruit and jams. The nice waiter will come by and by to bring fresh juices or with the cheese cart. The breakfast service was very pleasant and I haven’t had such a relaxing breakfast in a while.
