Fior di Luna
Rome restaurant recommendations. You can imagine that Rome was pure heaven when it came to food especially sweets and treats. I highly recommend you to eat some gelato at Fior di Luna in Trastevere, which strawberry is just the best I’ve ever eaten. So good that we went there twice. Either you love it or doesn’t – the ice cream from Il Gelato di San Crispino is different than the normal creamy ones, but their meringue, chocolate and nut sorts are so good. Last but not least you must try the Sicilian granita at Nonna Vincenza preferably in a brioche. I didn’t want to go there because I expected a typical granita made of juice and crushed ice, but you’ll get some fruity deliciousnesses. So much for gelato and granitas.

My aunt told me about having brunch at Antonello Colonna at the Palazzo dell’ Esposizione and eating at Marzapane close to Villa Borghese. Unfortunately, time was too short to try it all out.

We enjoyed a lot eating at Urbana47, which was a wonderful romantic dinner with my boy in the Monti area. It is such a cool restaurant and the food and wine is exquisite. You’d better book a table a day in advance to make sure that you’ll get a table outside if the weather is good enough. The Testaccio area has gotten quite foodiac in the past years and we had a nice dinner at Il piccolo alpino, which has a cute terrasse outside, there are no tourist and on Thursdays you’ll get some delicious gnocchi. Very simple restaurant but great food. Another spot is near Campo dei Fiori called Sora Margherita where you’ll also get traditional Roman cuisine. Moreover, apparently you’ll get the best carbonara at Roscioli.

And if you’re looking for a very cute café walk to via della Madonna dei Monti and take a break at La Casetta della Madonna dei Monti.
