The summer break is over and I’m starting all over again with some fresh recommendations from the vibrant Berlin culinary scene. But can we reminisce for a second how great this summer has been (and still is?). I’ve had so many great memories and enjoyed it to the fullest. Sitting outside having brunch with friends, sipping on a good iced coffee and just living into the day on weekends.
One great new discovery was the lovely FREISCHWIMMER restaurant in a small canal at the spree. The area is also known for some great clubs like Club der Visionäre, which is on the opposite site of it, Birgit & Bier and one of my summer favorites, the Badeschiff.
Restaurant in Berlin
The restaurant FREISCHWIMMER is mostly packed on weekends. No wonder because there are only a few places in Berlin where you can have drinks and eat in such a relaxed way along the Spree.
My mum came to visit me which was the perfect opportunity to have a relaxed brunch there together. In fact, they offer a breakfast buffet on Saturdays and a brunch buffet on Sundays. We got there quite early so it was still calm and we enjoyed a relaxed coffee along with our meal.
There is a large brunch buffet on Sundays. We were told that they do a slightly smaller one for the breakfast buffet on Saturday. There was everything I was craving for for a brunch – sweet and salty dishes and all lovely prepared.
- Breakfast buffet · Saturdays · 10am to 1pm · 10,90 €
- Brunch buffet · Sundays · 10am to 3pm · 14,90 €
A couple of my friends also went there for dinner and told me that the food was really good. Maybe I’ll get there once again before it is too cold to sit outside.
