Restaurant – Boucherie AuGust. Let’s kick off my posts from last weekend with a restaurant recommendation in Zurich. Even though the weekend was way too short to see everything of the city I definitely enjoyed it food-wise. Not only the wonderful Widder Hotel made our stay even better but we also got to taste Swiss specialities at their Restaurant – Boucherie AuGust (I will show you some pictures from the breakfast in the next post).

How could you not love the whole ambience and interior? Originally it was an old butcher house which was renovated years later and turned into a hotel and restaurant. It reminded me a little bit of the Sanagan’s Meat Locker in Toronto.

We tried a great selection of Swiss dishes, which were very good. Not mentioning the wine. Also, don’t forget to try the homemade ice tea which apparently is such a big trend in Switzerland right now. Unfortunately I forgot to bring some with me.

en Guetä!

REGULAT Beauty. I am super busy during the week these days and I do most of my posts on weekends. As a matter of fact, I was in Zurich this weekend and took advantage of a new background for this beauty posts (one was urgently needed after such a long break).

If you remember well, I’ve already presented you this bio-organic beauty brand REGULAT Beauty a year ago here where I was invited to an information evening. First I was quite sceptic of attending it because Anti Aging wasn’t on my beauty check-list. I discovered that the brand has also got some great products without anti-aging ingredients. Now another year passed and 25 are coming faster than expected!

Win 2 Beauty – Sets from REGULAT Beauty. Leave me your email in the comments (won’t be shown)

As I said, anti-aging wasn’t really on my bucket list but sooner or later I have to start too. I tried all of the products and you’ll immediately have a fresh feeling on your skin which also lasts very long during the day. I am buying more and more beauty products with natural ingredients because they do your skin so much better on a long-term whilst chemical products will show their side effects sometimes a few weeks/months later.

One of REGULAT Beauty‘s products for daily use it the facial tonic Energetic Facial Tonic – giving you that needed kick of freshness during the day.

Dr. rer. nat. Cordula Niedermaier-May, shop-owner Sabine Yousefy and brand ambassador Dana Schweiger

Dr. Cordula Niedermaier is the woman behind the natural cosmetic brand – a great and interesting woman. Unfortunately she’d been struggling with Neurodermitis most of the life until she found a way to use the HYALORON-Säure. On the first campaign she smiled from the ads while this year’s face is Dana Schweiger.

Also this year I attended their event at the Youssefy-Store in Munich where they presented their new Regulatpro Hyaluron Anti Aging Beauty Drink – beauty comes from inside too. ‘From inside and outside’ together with this beauty drink the whole beauty line is complete. I’ve also tried it and the taste is quite good!

My absolute favorite product is the cleansing foam – takes off the whole make-up without using any additional product, no oily and doesn’t dehydrate your skin. Because of its natural ingredients it also smells a little bit of Christmas. You’ll probably connect it with something else. It is always so interesting how people experience certain scents differently.

With the online-voucher “beauty2015” you’ll get 15% off your order – www.regulat-beauty.com.

Sightseeing look. Those of you who’ve been following on Instagram saw that I spent the weekend in Zurich. I’ve never been before and it was great! Of course, packing before wasn’t easy. I don’t know what I’d packed but I definitely had the biggest suitcase. As soon as everything was packed I realized that it’s only for two days. Travelling light was never a strong point of me!

When it comes to sightseeing I always wear comfortable clothes. My leather jacket from Asos is always with me, such as a simple pair of black jeans from Cheap Monday (which I had the glorious idea to cut off before departure, they’d always been way too long). For a chic look I brought my new favorite bouclé jacket from More & More with me, so in love with the colour and material. While everyones feet hurt from walking mine were absolutely fine since these espadrilles have the most comfortable footbed.

Wish you a wonderful day!

Back in time | how my grandmother wore her dirndl

Amazon Fashion EU, Amazon, Dirndl, Oktoberfest

Back in the past. Maybe you already know that I originally come from the Northern part of Italy, South Tyrol, which used to be part of Austria. Therefore, we still have a lot of traditional roots, be it Austrian / Bavarian.

Together with Amazon Fashion EU we teamed up a little story around the traditional dress dirndl. While these days everybody from young to old wears the Tracht, I would’ve never put one on when I was a teenager. It became fashionable again some years later. Dirndl definitely changed through the time. But my mum and my grandmother wore it all the time – for school, on a Sunday trip up in the mountains and many more times. The good thing about the dirndl was that you were immediately dressed. Women looked so good in their traditional dresses! Luckily, I’ve found an old picture of my grandmother wearing a traditional dirndl.

My first dirndl was one of the old ones from my mum. My mum designed and sewed my second one. When she was younger she made most of her clothes herself, so did my grandmother. In fact, the blouse on the picture is one of my mum’s old blouses. Dirndls changed a lot through the time. Back in time women didn’t accessorize as much as people do these days on the Oktoberfest. You can see on my grandmother’s picture that they were super simple with nice textures. My dirndl from Spieth & Wensky is a mix in between. I definitely love the more traditional and simple ones a lot better!

I tried to keep the styling quite simple with delicate jewelry. On the other hand, the flower crown is huge and I’ve never actually worn one. An ode to my grandmother’s love for flowers. She’s got them everywhere in, around (luckily not on top of) the house. I remember the times when I played in her garden, which was definitely a paradise for me and my cousins when we were little.

I love how the pictures turned. So different compared to my usual blogpictures!

Restaurants in Munich | Käfer-Schänke

Käfer-Schänke. Feinkost-Käfer is one of the old gourmet restaurants in Munich. Maybe some of you know it from the Oktoberfest, where they also have the Käfer-Zelt. I’ve already passed a few times at the Feinkost-Käfer. On the ground floor there is a bakery and a deli food shop, on the first floor the newly-renovated restaurant Käfer-Schänke with the old & modern Stuben in the back. I absolutely loved the interior. Moreover, the staff was very friendly!

We tried the Birnen-Spritz (a new and interesting drink) and a homemade lemonade as aperitif, which I highly recommend. There were so many delicious plates on the menu, which is built up a little bit confusing having the soups after the main courses. As main dish I chose the yellow boletuses in cream sauce, the others went for a beef tartar and chanterelle soup. All very good and the main course could just get better. We had lamp chops with vegetables and a cognac-pepper-sauce and halibut with hazelnut crust. Unfortunately, a dessert didn’t fit after these delightfulnesses. But the open chocolate bowl with plum-mousse, cinammon-espuma and yoghurt ice cream looked delicious on the neighbor’s table.

All in all it was such a lovely dinner. I highly recommend the Käfer-Schänke for a special occasion given that the prices are a little bit higher. Thank you Nobilis for the invitation!

Enjoy!
