Travel in style. Hello from Tokyo! The flight was much more pleasant than I thought. I even got some sleep, which is super rare for me. The nine hours passed rushed by like nothing. Nonetheless, I was super tired as soon as I got to my hotel room and needed a hot shower first. Luckily, we were picked up by lovely June, the director of the Okinawa project and she lead us to the airport hotel. Packed up with two bags I was so glad she was there. I actually though I might get better in travelling with less stuff but this time I outdid myself one more time. In fact, I’ve already had 2,5 kg more than allowed but the lady at the counter was super nice. Oopsie! Given the fact, that I’ll travel to Munich and then straight to Berlin I’ve packed way more. Moreover, I always have so much tech supplies with me, which are definitely heavy.

Right before I got on the plane I was able to shoot my travelling look. This time I went for some comfortable sport leggings from H&M combined to a warm and fluffy pullover from More & More. I just love their sweaters! My feet get cold super quickly on air planes, which is why I opted for my warmer EMU Australia chelsea boots. Also, I always prefer to carry a smaller bag with me where I keep all my documents and small items. Therefore, my new PINKO bag is perfect for it. Although it is definitely not the lightest bag.

How do you like the look? Do you want to see more travelling looks?

I’ll get back to you on Monday & I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Cafés in Munich | Breakfast at Das Maria

Das Maria Frühstücken München _ breakfast in Munich restaurant tipps München

Breakfast in Munich. Munich is a great city to eat. However, it’s hard to find great breakfast places. There are come cute cafés, which serve hot drinks, cake and viennoiseries. But where are all those great brunch places? They are a few. But then they’re great! Last week I went back to Das Maria for breakfast with . Lying deep down in the Glockenbackviertel (living in Schwabing it’s quite far down the map and I come rarely to the neighbourhood) the daily café is a great joint for a relaxed breakfast and bruch, but also lunch and dinner.

Breakfast in Munich Das Maria

Das Maria‘s decor is inspired by lots of travels, different cultures and religions. For instance, on the menu there’s an image of Holy Maria while the rest of the café is decorated with Moroccan style lamps and heavy wooden tables. The staff is super friendly. Come here in the morning on a week day when it’s super nice and calm. It will get more crowded towards lunch time while on weekends it is always packed (make sure to book a table). In late winter until autumn they also open their terrace outside, where you can enjoy your breakfast in the sun. How nice is that?

Das Maria Food & Drinks

The menu of Das Maria offers a large offer of breakfast dishes with creative names: Maria in Kerala (8,90€) – toast with a mango dip, Maria im Training (9,90€) – plain yoghurt with homemade oriental muesli, fruit salad and a fresh pressed juice or Maria im Souk (9,90€) – vegan chickpeas omelette with dried tomatoes, potatoes along with soy yoghurt and a date cream. I always love it when a restaurant runs through a golden thread through the whole concept. This time I chose the avocado bread along with a delicious morning tea. For someone who rarely drinks coffee their choice of tea is amazing.

Jeans with stars. Wow. I’ve never gotten so many messages regarding these jeans with stars from Calzedonia. They were the haul of a spontaneous shopping trip before Berlin Fashion Week. Lately I’ve loved to combine them super casually. For instance with my new favourite Chelsea boots from EMU Australia (another sale haul). In fact, I was looking for a nice pair of ankle boots for a while now. But the best is yet to come. Not only are they waterproof but they also have fur inside, which make them the warmest boots I’ve ever got (even warmer than my UGGs).

How do you like the look?

Lastly, a little life update. I had a great dinner with friends on Saturday followed by a great night out. I’d actually had planned to drive back home on Sunday but postponed it to yesterday. As a matter of fact, all of my boxes are all packed up and I brought everything back home. Really weird to see the flat so empty right now! On Wednesday I will finally fly to Japan and I can’t wait. I’m sure the trip will be amazing as the program already sounds super interesting! Stay tuned for a lot of pictures and of course, I will take you with me on my Insta-Stories!

Wish you a wonderful day!

Restaurants in Munich | the best falafel in town at Sababa

The best falafel in Munich. Like always, my favourite restaurants take longer to be published. I started writing this post a year ago. So much for how good I am in postponing things. But haste makes the waste. Here it is, my absolute favourite place to eat falafel in Munich (the rest of the food is pretty amazing too). Some of you may expect a fancy restaurant with Munich prices. No, we’re right on the Viktualienmarkt in a small food stall, where the oriental food is so luscious. Let me present you Sababa!

Sababa

Sababa is definitely one of the hidden gems in Munich. A lot of people know about this food stall but still many don’t. Here I am promoting it to the max. I came here so many times during my lunch break and grabbed a falafel to go or sat down relaxed to eat a bigger plate in the winter garden. You may expect a huge queue during lunch time but it’s definitely worth it. Therefore, bring a little bit more time. The staff is super friendly and it will make sure that everything is perfect for you even when they have full house.

Sababa the food

The menu at Sababa is small but you won’t crave anything else. Usually, I order a Falafel Plate (7,60€) with falafel, hummus, tabouleh and much more. The hummus is so delicious! Not to mention that I was praising this food stall having the best falafel in town. And yes, they serve the best! The falafel are crunchy on the outside and savory inside. They prepare them fresh all day long. I had the Starter Plate (9,20€) many times as well, which I highly recommend too. The Shawarma Plate (8,90€) is also delicious. Yes, as you can see I came here a lot of times. The plates are huge. Therefore, you can easily share one if you’re not too hungry. For the more stressed ones among you (you should never be stressed while eating) you can get a quick Falafel in pita bread (4,40€) , which you can top at the salad bar with whatever you desire. Do I have to add more? You. have. to. go. there.
