Wiesn Countdown. In three weeks’ time it’s about that time again – the Oktoberfest starts. Get into your dirndl and lederhosen and let’s go! I’ll definitely visit the Wiesn on the last weekend. Of course, the final date for my master thesis is during the Oktoberfest. The earlier I’ll finish the more time I can celebrate. Wish me luck that I’ll finish on time!

Today I’m showing you my newest addition to my Dirndl collection with Zalando. Usually the traditional Dirndl are super expensive and starting from 300€. Luckily, there are lovely cheaper models too (Zalando has dirndl starting from 69,00€). I absolutely love the classic and traditional models the most. Therefore, I immediately fell in love with this beautiful Almsach LOLA Dirndl . A blew dress was still missing in my collection. I absolutely love the Vienna seams and the ruffles at the neckline. My dirndl is also available in red.

Dirndl Zalando Guide what you should take in consideration for your purchase:

  • the size – Dirndls should be worn super narrow and I always take one size smaller. Also here I chose the dirndl in 34 instead of my usual 36.
  • side pockets are super handy and sometimes you’re not allowed to bring big bags. You won’t need more than your ID, keys and phone. Eventually you can add press buttons to prevent falling out.
  • the right size – this is probably the biggest mistake tourists do. The lenght of a classic dirndl starts right below your knees. Dirndls shorter than that look super cheap and vulgar.
  • A good dirndl bra creats a beautiful décolleté. The more push-up the better!

Who will come to Munich and go to the Oktoberfest?

Restaurants in Munich | Breakfast at Tagescafé Schwabing

Tagescafé Schwabing. Sorry for my brief absence here on the blog this week. I was in South Tyrol all week long and since we’ve moved we still don’t have any internet at home. But a short digital detox wasn’t bad either, which led to forgetting my phone always at home when I was out. You can still watch some Instagram Stories from back home. Now I’m back with the regular blogging.

Just in time for the weekend I’ve got a new breakfast recommendation in Schwabing, Munich for you: the Tagescafé Schwabing. I’ve already been there several times with my friends and I highly recommend having drinks, lunch or breakfast there. The other day I tested their breakfast with my favourite restaurant tester Olga.

Tagescafé Schwabing

The Hohenzollernstraße is an excellent shopping street and after an exhausting shopping trip you must come to Das Tagescafé for some refreshing drinks. The café is charming and inviting. They’ve got breakfast all day long. Lunch dishes change daily and throughout the day you’ll get delicious freshly squeezed juices, sodas and more.

Tagescafé Schwabing Breakfast

On their breakfast menu you’ll find delicious egg dishes, sandwiches, cereals and avocado. I took the two boiled eggs with smoked salmon (5.50 €) and Olga the avocado with Tabasco salt, pepper and olive oil (8.00 €). Moreover we got a yellow juice (the colour was green in the end, 5.50 €) and an orange juice (3.6 €). Being hungry we also tried their croissants. You must know that I’m really picky with croissants, which I used to eat in Paris always. They were delicious – flaky, buttery and meld on the tongue. My boiled eggs were also super tasty.

Next time I’ll try the lunch, which I’m sure is delicious too. All in all, I absolutely recommend this lovely café.

I wish you a wonderful day!

#vapianosummer | girls’ night with lots of ice cream

Vapiano Ice Cream. I’ve recently met someone who doesn’t like ice cream. I mean, there are lots of things that I can understand why. But ice cream I definitely don’t! There is nothing more refreshing than ice cream or sorbets. I’m quite an ice cream freak and when I was in school I had an ice cream diary. Every time I’d eaten one I wrote it down. Given that the Italian ice cream prices are of 1€ per scoop you would treat yourself every other day.

Since I’m such an ice cream fan I was curious about the new Vapiano ice cream. They’ve invited me over to test the new varieties. My girlfriends are the same sweet tooth as I am and I persuaded them immediately to come with me.

#Vapianosumer the new Vapiano Ice Cream

The Vapiano Ice Cream is available in six delicious flavours – from the four creamy ice creams to the two refreshingly fruity sorbets:

  • Cookies & Cream
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Strawberries & Cream
  • Green Tea Coconut Fudge
  • Raspberry (vegan)
  • Lemon (vegan)

To perfect the new varieties, the developers have actually eaten lots of ice cream every day. A dream job, isn’t it? Some kinds were harder to develop, especially the unusual Green Tea Coconut Fudge. The ice creams are plugged in pretty packaging and are available as 100ml – cups to eat immediately or take away in the park.

– after some Pizza and Pasta you’ll enjoy your Vapiano Ice Cream even more!

We went to the Vapiano at Hackerbrücke. Of the six varieties we tested Cookies & Cream, Rasperry and Lemon. Fortunately, we didn’t have to argue about who picks which ice cream. I preferred something fruitier and my girlfriends each a more creamy and juicy / acidic type. Cookies & Cream was very good and had lots of chocolate pieces in it. Rasperry was delicious, but for me it was a little bit too sweet (but that is a matter of taste). Lemon ist indeed a classic and there is nothing more refreshing after eating. All in all, all kinds of Vapiano ice cream were very good. The 100ml mug is available for € 3.25 in your Vapiano restaurant.

Enjoy your ice cream!

July recap. This time it took me a little longer to write my July review. I don’t know why but I’ve been postponing this post forever. Until today. July has been pretty exciting and I was in Barcelona and Lisbon. I’m happy that you liked my travel posts and I also uploaded a new travel video (I uploaded my last travel video three years ago – shame on me!). The rest of my time I’ve been working on my master thesis and there is 1,5 month more to go. I’ll keep you updated.

Monthly favorites BOUGHT

So let’s start right away with the products I’ve bought this month. I barely shop but as soon as I got out of the hotel in Barcelona and stood on the Paseig de Gracìa the shopping fever had gotten me. The result: a bag full of pretty stuff from the mango sale. I’d already shown you some bits and bobs from my haul here, here and here. That’s the thing with posting too late because now all the items are already gone. Moreover, I shopped a lot at the La Roca Village in Barcelona, which I’ve shown you here. Here is some more stuff, which I bought:

  • A classic Polo Ralph Lauren sweater in marine blue and pink (get it here)
  • A new wallet from Longchamp (here)
  • A black shoulder bag from Coccinelle
  • A pair of nude pumps from Mango (here)

Monthly favorites READ

Shame on me because I didn’t read anything the whole month. I just don’t know why I find it so hard to get to read. I’ll definitely hit the library this week and get some new chick lit. Any books to recommend?

Monthly favorites SEEN

From my previous monthly favorites you’ll know that I looove trash tv. The new season of Shahs Of Sunset was finally back, which is already finished by now. Moreover, I found this lovely series called Love bites. I thing its from 2012 and there are super short love episodes. Since it only has 8 episodes I finished it super quickly. Any series to recommend?

Monthly favorites PLANNED – TRAVEL

Well, we’re already in the middle of August and the only travel I’d planned was a little weekend getaway to Sölden with my mom. Moreover I’ll drive home for a week on Sunday and I’m super happy about it.
