Hôtel Thérèse. Paris has so many great hotels and I am so happy that we could enjoy a few on our last trip to the city of love. When I lived in Paris three years ago a friend of mine asked me for a hotel recommendation over New Year’s Eve and I remember that he’d booked this charming boutique hotel Therese. I’ve never imagined that I would get the possibility to stay at it as well.

The four star Hotel Thérèse lies in the heart of the 1st arrondissement, which is where I lived before. You’ll find it in the quiet street Rue Therese in the Japanese/Korean neighborhood which is by the way a cool area for eating (e.g. Kunitoraya around the corner, Jimtchi is just across the street and H.A.N.D at the corner to the right).

Hotel Therese Our Room

The hotel room was super spacious for a Parisian hotel. When entering there was a small boudoir to the right and a bathroom with shower to the left (plus point for that – I hate bathtubs!). The rest of the hotel rooms was fondly designed with a comfortable upholstered bed. There was also enough space for working and we had two small work desks, which I would have wished to take home.

Hotel Therese the breakfast

We never make it on time for breakfast (7:00-10:30). I was so glad when the hotel offered to bring us our breakfast up to our room. Given the fact that we came back home late a couple of more minutes in bed were needed. All in all it was fine but I was a little bit disappointed of the breakfast. The bread basket contained four mini viennoiseries and two halves of baguette.

Hotel Therese the design

The hotel was designed by the interior designer Jean Louis Deniot. The whole lobby area has a special flair and is super cozy. And how cute is that dog lamp? One more gadget which I wished to bring home. For all guests they offer a free tea time from 16:00-18:00 (if I remember well).

Hotel Therese the neigborhood

All in all, Hotel Therese is a great address for a calm hotel in the heart of Paris. Most of my favorite spots are close by:

  • the beautiful Palais Royal (a strawberry sorbet and good coffee at Kitsuné are a must!)
  • visit Christian Louboutin’s store in Galerie Vero-Dodat
  • Jardins des Tuileries with the Louvre
  • Shopping on Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint Honoré – have a hot chocolate at Angelina
  • the Operà, Galerie Lafayette and Printemps are only a quarter of an hour walk away
  • a bus takes you directly to Saint-Germain des Près

Hopefully the last. Before our beautiful Easter weekend in Vienna, I was traveling quite a bit. Therefore, I still have a lot of posts for you, which also need to be written. As a matter of fact, we’re going back in time now and I wanted to show you this comfortable weekend look I wore for a brunch.

I always find the pieces I was looking for all winter at the end of the season. This included a gorgeous camel coat. In the end, I found it at Oasis, which I’d already spotted on Antonia from Amazed. Luckily, I ordered it before they took it out of their stores. But to be honest I’m done with winter now! I’ve already brought all my winter boots and shoes in the cellar and all my summer clothing is moving back soon to my closet.

I’m already on the go and will be flying to Hamburg with Nivea tonight. I’m really excited and in the meantime you’ll get more travel posts!

Wish you a wonderful day!

Das Triest. We spent four days in beautiful Vienna and were offered a stay at the Das Triest Hotel in district 4. This design hotel is located in the nice quarter called Freihausviertel near Karlsplatz. At our arrival the receptionist gave us our key for a suite – yes, upgrade!

The hotel is very fashionably furnished and has a wide entrance hall with a lounge to the left and the star restaurant COLLIO plus the SILVER BAR to the right. In the middle there is a dreamlike patio with quiet garden – ideal for tepid summer nights!

The hotel is offering a comfortable online connection, having placed a Mac in the lobby for its residents. This time I was on a private trip and made little us of the internet. But nonetheless it merits a big brownie point: at long last a hotel without annoying registration portals and server.

Das Triest The suite

All in all the Das Triest has 72 spacious rooms including 16 suites and junior suites. We were given one of the suites. When entering I was flabbergasted by its size, in any case bigger than our Munich apartment. A small vestibule lead into the vast, living room, which sure can also be used as seminar room. At the other end of the living room a huge B&O screen hung on the wall and in front of it a big massive dining table. The fittings are classic with colored accents. There is a small bedroom adjacent to the living room, and a bathroom. There is also a small balcony; what a pity that it was not warm enough to enjoy the sun on it. As we spent four days in Vienna we also had enough time to enjoy the comfort of the hotel. So we have ended the first evening with viewing a film at the hotel.

Superior rooms (25m2) are at 180€
Triest suites (100m2) start from 440€.You better check their prices on their website, where they always make their best offers.

Das Triest The breakfast

The COLLIO Restaurant (which I’ve already told you about here) serves also as breakfast room, where they off a copious continental breakfast. Here could really breakfast for hours! The day-to-day variations deserve a brownie point, thanks to them breakfast never becomes a dull affair. The service personnel is very polite and attentive.

Das Triest The Garden

Beside the generous suite my personal highlight was the garden. Gardens are so pleasant for a short break especially on city tours. And in the summer you can enjoy there all three meals of the day.

All in all, we had a very pleasant stay at DAS Triest hotel, which did not give me any reason whatsoever for complaints I can really recommend it to everybody. It is within easy reach of the center and by metro from Karlsplatz you can get anywhere without problems.

Easter weekend in Vienna – 5 things we’ve done

Collio Restaurant | Osterwochenende in Wien – 5 Dinge, die wir gemacht haben
EN
Easter weekend in Vienna. Travelling around Easter is always super expensive, which is why we’ve decided to drive somewhere by car. Four days were perfect to go a little bit farther and we decided to visit my brother in Vienna.

My last time is so long ago, I think I was 16, 17 years old. Together with five girlfriends we went to Vienna and all I remember is that it was super cold, we couldn’t get into the bars because we were under 18 and the way from the metro to our hostel. Great memories, right? I guess this is why I never went back. Although I have a lot of friends and acquaintances from back home who live there. But this should have an end now! Especially becase Vienna looks always so great on other blogs. Moreover, I’d collected quite a number of restaurant (of course, way too many for one weekend). Traveling for good food is always a reason!

Starting off at the COLLIO Restaurant

With more than an hour of delay (due to parking restrictions in Vienna) we finally arrived at DAS Triest Hotel, which invited us over Easter. Usually delays in hotels don’t matter but I’d already booked a table at the COLLIO restaurant for lunch. It should be the perfect start, which it was.

Gourmet chef Josef Neuherz leads the Collio, which focuses on North Italian dishes inspired by the Collio region.
As a starter we had bruschetta with dried tomato cream, roasted artichokes, rucola & burrata and with orange & basil marinated salmon “label rouge” with avocado, cress & ciabatta chips. Both dishes were a great creative and delicious start. Homemade gnocchi Starter with mangold, pine nuts & goat cheese followed for my boyfriend. I chose the grilled fillet of beef steak served with „Barolo“ sauce and rucola salad. Nothing to complain!

Prices are in the higher level but they do have a great lunch menu for 16€ and a 5-course menu for 50€, which I highly recommend.

Stroll through the old town

On our first day we took it slowly and went on a long walk through the city center. I didn’t even bring my camera! We passed the famous Hotel Sacher. Of course, there was a long line, which made me crave a Sachertorte even more. The Stephansdom is always beautiful to see and we got lost in the small alleys. Accidentally we found the Figlmüller, where I’d eaten those big Schnitzels years ago (it became very touristy). What I loved the most was the area around the Volksgarten and the Museumsviertel.

Brunch at The Guesthouse Vienna

On Sunday we skipped our breakfast at the hotel and went into the city centre. I’d heard only good things about The Guesthouse Vienna where we met up with my brother for a little Easter brunch. They have a great selection of breakfast and brunch dishes. Whenever I see poached eggs on the menu I need to go for it. In the end, we ordered three Egg Benedict, a simple breakfast and a yellow smoothie. Everything was really good. My brother ended his feast with a tasty cheesecake.

Palace garden strolls at Schönbrunn & Belvedere

Sunday was such a stunning day and after brunch we drove to the Schloss Schönbrunn. Given the fact, that it was Easter sunday we weren’t the only ones that had the idea to go there. There were so many people! I was still so full from breakfast. A little siesta was needed and sat down on the first bench we found a little bit away from the crowds. Half an hour later we discovered a much more comfortable place and slept for one more half an hour.

Later that afternoon we also went to the Schloss Belvedere, which was the perfect timing to go there. The park was about to close and there weren’t so many people. Moreover, the atmosphere was so beautiful. I highly recommend visiting both parks.

Cake break at Café Drechsler / Naschmarkt

In between our park visits we stopped at the Naschmarkt for a little cake break. Compared to weekdays the Naschmarkt was super empty. When in Vienna you need to stop at one of those traditional cafés. Cakes are the best there!

We went to Café Drechsler, which is super cozy and serves delicious sweets. Finally I got my Sachertorte and the Apfelstrudel was delicious too. Not to mention that hill of cream. Yummy!

March recap. When travelling time flies even quicker. At the beginning of the month I was still working in Munich and left on the first weekend for Rome (my travel posts are already online). On Instagram it looked as if I went straight to Paris but I had a little layover and work in Munich. On the second weekend I drove to Paris for three days and flew directly to Barcelona from there. Two friends of mine joined and it was such a great trip! A little pitstop in Munich for one night and my boyfriend and I drove to Vienna for the Easter weekend.

Monthly favorites WORKOUT

Travelling and working out turned out to be a little bit more difficult than expected. This month I didn’t stick to the whole Blogilates WO-calendar, but at least I did two – three workout sessions per week. I was highly motivated to stay fit during my travels but some hotels didn’t have a gym and in some the rooms were just way too tiny to do it indoor. We’ll see how next month will be! I told you that I’ll start the PIIT28!

Monthly favorites RECIPES

Cooking came definitely way too short this month and it feels like ages that I’ve entered my kitchen. However, I tried a couple of delicious recipes at the beginning of the month.
My favorite recipe of this month was (the other ones are not online):

Monthly favorites BOUGHT

I knew that I was going to shop a little bit in the one or other city. The H&M in Rome had a couple of wonderful pieces, which I haven’t found online. GAP had cool leggings and one pajama short. As you can imagine shopping in Barcelona is indeed crazy. There is so much choice! The mango outlet had two wonderful trenches and two blazer. Moreover, I bought a nightgown from Oysho.

Monthly favorites SEEN

I started watching The Real Housewifes of Beverly Hills in March, super trashy reality tv but I love it. Also, I watched one of the first episodes of The Hills again.

Monthly favorites PLANNED – TRAVEL

I thought that April will be a little bit quieter. I’ll fly to Hamburg next weekend  followed by a presstrip to Croatia (first time, yaaay!). One more trip to Mallorca is on the list and them I’m done for this month. Nonetheless I’ll definitely drive home to South Tyrol for a couple of days at the end of the month.

Wish you a wonderful day!
