Das Triest. We spent four days in beautiful Vienna and were offered a stay at the Das Triest Hotel in district 4. This design hotel is located in the nice quarter called Freihausviertel near Karlsplatz. At our arrival the receptionist gave us our key for a suite – yes, upgrade!
The hotel is very fashionably furnished and has a wide entrance hall with a lounge to the left and the star restaurant COLLIO plus the SILVER BAR to the right. In the middle there is a dreamlike patio with quiet garden – ideal for tepid summer nights!
The hotel is offering a comfortable online connection, having placed a Mac in the lobby for its residents. This time I was on a private trip and made little us of the internet. But nonetheless it merits a big brownie point: at long last a hotel without annoying registration portals and server.

Das Triest The suite
All in all the Das Triest has 72 spacious rooms including 16 suites and junior suites. We were given one of the suites. When entering I was flabbergasted by its size, in any case bigger than our Munich apartment. A small vestibule lead into the vast, living room, which sure can also be used as seminar room. At the other end of the living room a huge B&O screen hung on the wall and in front of it a big massive dining table. The fittings are classic with colored accents. There is a small bedroom adjacent to the living room, and a bathroom. There is also a small balcony; what a pity that it was not warm enough to enjoy the sun on it. As we spent four days in Vienna we also had enough time to enjoy the comfort of the hotel. So we have ended the first evening with viewing a film at the hotel.
Triest suites (100m2) start from 440€.You better check their prices on their website, where they always make their best offers.

Das Triest The breakfast
The COLLIO Restaurant (which I’ve already told you about here) serves also as breakfast room, where they off a copious continental breakfast. Here could really breakfast for hours! The day-to-day variations deserve a brownie point, thanks to them breakfast never becomes a dull affair. The service personnel is very polite and attentive.

Das Triest The Garden
Beside the generous suite my personal highlight was the garden. Gardens are so pleasant for a short break especially on city tours. And in the summer you can enjoy there all three meals of the day.
All in all, we had a very pleasant stay at DAS Triest hotel, which did not give me any reason whatsoever for complaints I can really recommend it to everybody. It is within easy reach of the center and by metro from Karlsplatz you can get anywhere without problems.
