Hôtel Thérèse. Paris has so many great hotels and I am so happy that we could enjoy a few on our last trip to the city of love. When I lived in Paris three years ago a friend of mine asked me for a hotel recommendation over New Year’s Eve and I remember that he’d booked this charming boutique hotel Therese. I’ve never imagined that I would get the possibility to stay at it as well.
The four star Hotel Thérèse lies in the heart of the 1st arrondissement, which is where I lived before. You’ll find it in the quiet street Rue Therese in the Japanese/Korean neighborhood which is by the way a cool area for eating (e.g. Kunitoraya around the corner, Jimtchi is just across the street and H.A.N.D at the corner to the right).
Hotel Therese Our Room
The hotel room was super spacious for a Parisian hotel. When entering there was a small boudoir to the right and a bathroom with shower to the left (plus point for that – I hate bathtubs!). The rest of the hotel rooms was fondly designed with a comfortable upholstered bed. There was also enough space for working and we had two small work desks, which I would have wished to take home.

Hotel Therese the breakfast
We never make it on time for breakfast (7:00-10:30). I was so glad when the hotel offered to bring us our breakfast up to our room. Given the fact that we came back home late a couple of more minutes in bed were needed. All in all it was fine but I was a little bit disappointed of the breakfast. The bread basket contained four mini viennoiseries and two halves of baguette.
Hotel Therese the design
The hotel was designed by the interior designer Jean Louis Deniot. The whole lobby area has a special flair and is super cozy. And how cute is that dog lamp? One more gadget which I wished to bring home. For all guests they offer a free tea time from 16:00-18:00 (if I remember well).
Hotel Therese the neigborhood
All in all, Hotel Therese is a great address for a calm hotel in the heart of Paris. Most of my favorite spots are close by:
- the beautiful Palais Royal (a strawberry sorbet and good coffee at Kitsuné are a must!)
- visit Christian Louboutin’s store in Galerie Vero-Dodat
- Jardins des Tuileries with the Louvre
- Shopping on Rue de Rivoli and Rue Saint Honoré – have a hot chocolate at Angelina
- the Operà, Galerie Lafayette and Printemps are only a quarter of an hour walk away
- a bus takes you directly to Saint-Germain des Près

Annika

I am worried whether how safe it would be in Paris, since it is one of the least safe cities compared to other cities around the world. Could you tell me about the overall atmosphere in Paris? I plan to go to Paris in the spring of 2017 and I need to book my flight tickets now to get cheap flights. I wish you a nice holiday :)
Hi Lisa,
so nice to hear from you! I was so many times in Paris. Even during times when it wasn’t so safe. I wouldn’t worry about that. Especially because it can happen anywhere around the world.
best,
Vicky
