Bastard | breakfast in Berlin

Breakfast in Kreuzberg. I’m back in Berlin for five days and my wallet will suffer again because of all the great restaurant choice. This time Julia will also join and I will take her to some of my favourite places. Hopefully, my friends have discovered a couple of new restaurants to be tried. First stop will be to have breakfast in Kreuzberg and I really want to go back to Bastard.

Breakfast in Kreuzberg Bastard

Bastard is a small inconspicuous breakfast place in the heart of Kreuzberg. Usually one would walk by but knowing that they serve an amazing breakfast you cannot miss it. In fact, breakfast is served until 4:30pm every day and they also have a changing lunch menu. Usually the place is super crowded but we came super late around 4pm and got a table right away. I imagine that in summer time you should definitely book a table on weekends.

Bastard Food & Drinks

The breakfast menu is simple but has everything one would crave for a late breakfast in the afternoon. My friends and I had the mixed plate (small 5,90€ / big 9,80€), 2 eggs in a glass à la Bastard (3,00€) and the Strammer Max (5,20€). The mixed plate is so nicely decorated. Did I mention that the bread is homemade and so is the rest of the food? You’ll taste the great quality immediately.

All in all, I absolutely loved to have breakfast in Kreuzberg at Bastard. The interior may seem to someone a little bit rough and minimal. I’ve also heard that some people weren’t satisfied with the service as there is definitely not enough staff for crowded weekends. I didn’t experience that but I will let you know if anything changes on my next visit.
