‚There are only a few restaurant where I‘d drive 40 minutes through Berlin. Knödlwirtschaft is one of them.‘ Most of my friends agreed to this. I love to get out ot my neighbourhood and drive to Neukölln. Last weekend I‘ve finally made it to the popular Knödlwirtschaft.
- Beware: the place is always full and you should book in advance!
Restaurant in Berlin
Knödlwirtschaft
The restaurant Knödlwirtschaft is located in deep Neukölln nearby a couple of other great places – Dr. To‘s, Imren Döner, Ä Bar, Nathanja & Heinrich and so on. Restaurants and bars are definitely different than the ones in Mitte. I love their easy, rough, unfinished interior. They‘re charming in their way.
A restaurant where they just serve German/Austrian bread dumplings – Knödl – can only work in Berlin. Imagine that in my hometown in South Tyrol or in Munich. I think that wouldn‘t work for long. The Knödlwirtschaft is always packed!

FOOD & DRINKS
I absolutely love Kasknedl (cheese dumplings) and the ones with spinach. At Knödlwirtschaft they change their dumpling variations once in a while. When we were there they also served dumplings with chard and red cabbage. Both variations were super delicous!
For the sweet tooth there are also changing sweet dumplings like semolina dumplings on the menu. I‘m waiting for summer time when they serve delicious apricot or plum dumplings. So good!
2 dumplings with a salad cost 7€ and each additional one 2€. 2 dumplings are recommended for the small appetite, at least 5 for the big one!
