Micro trip to Italy – vacanze italiane. The Marches, ital. Marche, are a wonderful region, which still seems so beautifully untouched. I was 7 years ago the first time in my girlfriend’s holiday home, two years ago again and was looking forward to a third time this year. The nice thing about returning to a place you already know is the serenity, peace and quiet and not having stress to discover something new to must. This does not mean that we did not discover new places, but tutto senza fretta (without hurry). It came as it came. A sweet place – we stopped. A sea of sunflower fields – we stopped. Fortunately only at one sunflower field, because there were one beautiful after the other. After the stressful two weeks behind me (what I told you here) a holiday like this was just right. With wonderful people, great conversations and just enjoying the silence and above all the nature. I let the pictures speak best.

HOW TO GET TO Isola di Fano
The best airports are:
- Rimini (68km / 1:15min)
or - Ancona (67km / 47min)
The flights to Ancona are only 3 times per week. Therefore, I flew back to Berlin via Bologna Airport (225km). From Fano you can take the regional train (takes 2 hours – 9,90€) and then the aerobus (6,20€) from Bologna train station to the airport.

Marche OSTRA VETERE
On the way from Ancona airport we took the panorama route. This led us spontaneously to Ostra Vetere. A small sweet place where we stopped for a Gelato and some shopping for the evening barbecue.

Marche ISOLA DI FANO
In the morning we just let the soul dangle in the beautiful surroundings of Isola di Fano. I enjoyed the morning alone in the hammock on the hilly landscape. Sometimes my work rhythm and getting up early pays off also during the holidays.

SANT’IPPOLITO
One evening always leads us to the La Piadina in Sant’Ippolito. The village is tiny and there is always a little walk before dinner. In addition there are the obligatory group pictures at the vantage point. We discussed for a long time how to pronounce it in Italian… Sant’ Ipppppoooooolito. Here I found a page where you can always listen to the pronunciation in Italian. The food at La Piadina is always super good. I recommend the famous Piadine as an appetizer with affettato (cold cuts) and vegetables and a Primo as a main course. Be careful – the portions are huge.

La spiaggia di FANO
There are enough excursion destinations in the surroundings. One day we drove to the beach at Fano…

Il fiume di CAGLI
Another time we drove for a few hours to the river at Cagli. I am a huge freshwater fan and enjoyed bathing in the river even more. Ice cold, refreshing, invigorating. As my girlfriend said so beautifully: “You really feel alive when you dive deep in”.

The last evening in FANO
The last evening we enjoyed at the harbour of Fano. A little sweet place where supposedly a lot has happened in recent years. A lot of new, modern, lovingly furnished restaurants. We drank a glass of Bolliccine (so called Prosecco or Franciacorta casually) and enjoyed the sunset.

È stato fantastico … meraviglioso … stupendo! Grazie di cuore amici!

Dort ist es ja traumhaft schön!
