Restaurant in Munich | ALOHA Poké in der Maxvorstadt

Wow. I don’t even remember when I was the last time in Munich for longer than one day. I’m already here since Wednesday evening and will leave tomorrow. It was the perfect opportunity to have lots of lunch / dinner dates with friends. Moreover, my restaurant list in Munich is still long. Also, many of you were requesting tipps for Munich again. Here you go!

Sometimes it takes me longer to get into different food trends. In this case, the poke bowl trend. I’ve tasted my first one in Berlin some weeks ago. Together with my dear Olga we went to try the poke bowls at Aloha POKE at Maxvorstadt in Munich.

  • If you’ve never heard of the Hawaiian food trend, read on here!

Aloha POKE

Aloha POKE is a deli which is super busy during lunch time. We got there at noon and after us the queue began to get longer. Ordering at Aloha POKE is super easy. You can mix your own poke bowl or you choose some of the “House-bowls”.The base of a poke bowl is either white or nature rice. I went for the nature rice, topped it with salmon, avocado, edamame, mango, chose the peanut-cilantro sauce and added some fresh chilis, dried algae and sesame.

  • A small bowl costs 9,40 and a large one 12,40

The Dolce Vita dress

Happy Humpday everyone! What a great weekend I’ve had. I was finally able to shoot some new looks. This lovely chiffon dress with dots had been hanging for a while now in the closet. The perfect opportunity to take it out will be the first wedding of the season. The perfect mix of not being too elegant but festive.

6 great beauty oils you’ll love

Lately, I’ve become quite a beauty junkie again. I just love to try out new products or just stick to old one but use them in the right way. If there is one product I got so love so much the past year are all kinds of oils. For some people oils may seem too fatty but if you use them the right way it’s the perfect addition to your daily beauty routine. Best is to apply them to your wet skin after the shower and wait for a bit to get absorbed. If you still need your immediate moisture add your body lotion.

Here are my favorite beauty oils in a long time.

6 great BEAUTY OILS

#1 Huile Prodigieuse by Nuxe: Definitely my favorite oil ever. I don’t know how many time I’ve rebought it. I just love it!
get it here – starting from 19,00€ / 50ml

#2 Fig oil by Stop The Water: The beauty brand released this lovely oil this winter. First, I had to get used to the smell of it but ended up loving it so much. The perfect oil for winter time. Also, it’s 100% organic.
get it here – 24,90€ / 100ml

#3 8-Flower Nectar Oil by Darphin: Lastly, a secret star under the oils (also the most hilariously expensive) Although I’m quite sensitive to many scents in oils I absolutely love the one from Darphin. It adds the perfect extra richness to your skin.
get it here – 103,86€ / 15 ml

#4 Argan Oil by Insta Natural: Argan oil has its origins in Marocco. Unfortunately, I missed to buy some during my last visit. Argan oil has been my number one for many years. I still love to use it for my hair and nails.
Starting from 8,99€ / 100 ml

#5 Tee trea oil by Das Plus: the perfect oil when I can’t slip. I drip it onto a wet towel and put it on the heating.
get it here – 1,95€ / 30ml

#6 Almond oil by Weleda: definitely in the top three. I’ve been using the oil the whole last year. Best is to apply a couple of drops on the wet face. I love the consistence and I’ve been a fan of Weleda’s products for many years now.

Apparently, lots of creative people are very comfortable in Småland. I highly recommend to visit them in their ateliers and exhibitions. My highlight was the atelier by Kai Engström in a former carpentry. His puppets are incredible and will capture your imagination. Which one is your favorite?

Right next to Kai Engström you’ll find the art of Marcus Emilsson in a former blacksmith’s shop. There you’ll find impressive glass installation accompanied by deep underground music and whispering voices. You’ll find perfectly proportioned glass objects in the room. Against the usual you are actually allowed to touch the works of art. The exhibition is still live until November 2018.

Restaurant in Berlin | Hasir – Turkish lunch in Kreuzberg

Hasir

Wow. That’s been quite a long break from my restaurant recommendations. Every week I’m testing so many great restaurants. I’ll try to get back to my weekly routine of posting tips… Let’s start over again.

It was such a lovely day yesterday. We had a day off because of German public holiday (although I had lots of work to get done). W chose one of the Hasir Restaurants and went to the one close to Kottbusser Tor. Last time I went to a Turkish restaurant I’d already picked such great dishes that we just went with the same again.

We were so lucky to catch the perfect weather to sit outside. Hasir in Kreuzberg has lots of tables outside. I’m sure that it’s well-frequented in summer. So pleasant to sit outside. However, I was quite astonished by the interior inside, which is super lovely. I absolutely loved the floor tiles.

FOOD & DRINKS

One the one hand, you’ll find super cheap Turkish restaurants in Berlin. On the other hand, great ones to have a lovely dinner in the evening. More extravagant restaurants may be a bit pricier but worth it.

We ordered a mezze platter of cold starter, which is always the perfect start for a meal. Turkish dishes are so great to share. In the end, we also ended up sharing every dish. My friend also took the lentil soup, which was really good. Luckily, last time we had Beyti Kebap, which I absolutely loved. Therefore, we had to take the dish again.

RÉSUMÉ

I really loved the ambience at Hasir. The food was delicious too. But I preferred the Beyti Kebab much more at Baba Angora. That will remain my favorite so far. Given the fact that Hasir has many more locations close to my place I’ll definitely head back.
