Sushi Restaurant in Berlin

Oh Berlin, you great restaurant city! You surprise me each time and there is still so much to discover. Shortly before our public holiday in Italy, the Ferragosto weekend (that’s how 15th August is called – also Assumption Day), I flew to Berlin. It’s been quite a while since my last visit, which dates back to April. I was excited to spend some days with Amandine and to dive into the nightlife. First thing to do on Saturday – having lunch at Sticks’n’Sushi.

Sticks’n’Sushi
FOOD & DRINKS

You can imagine that I turned quite into a sushi dictator since my travel to Japan. Unfortunately, there are only a few Japanese restaurants, which have the same quality as their land of origin. Good thing is that I wasn’t so traumatised like one of my friends who couldn’t eat sushi outside Japan for a year. But back to Sticks’n’Sushi – the lunch was a dream!

I love Japanese rice bowls, algae salads and all dishes around classic sushi. Well, you can’t really call them classic sushi because there are no california rolls or such in Japan. In fact, Japanese prefer to have nigiri with different sorts of fish with no frills. You can read more about it in my Japan food guide!

The menu of Sticks’n’Sushi is huge. I always find it hard to decide what to take and the endless list of Japanese deliciousnesses didn’t make it easier. You’ll find a great choice of starters, creative sushi variations and a generous number of Yakitori skewers, i.e. sweetpotato and teryaki skewer or a Japanese Wagyu from Kyushu skewer.

To conclude we had two Matcha Cappuccinos, which tasted deliciously. I will definitely come back to Sushi’n’Sticks!

  • I’m a huge sushi lover and I am somewhat of Japanese food and sushi dictator too. :D
I have to eat sushi at least once a week and it’s my favourite food. It’s funny how I’m just like Japanese, much more into nigiri and sashimi rather than rolls. I don’t even remember when was the last time I ate California roll.
