I spent some days in Munich last week, which was the perfect opportunity to tick some new Munich places off my list. It’s been a while since my last breakfast recommendation. Last Saturday was perfect to meet up with my girls Irina and Conny for a relaxed breakfast at Café Blá in Haidhausen. The café is indeed a jewel under the Munich daily cafés and coffee roasteries.

In the calmer neighborhood in Haidhausen, right behind the Deutsches Museum, lies the beautiful Café Blá. The interior is Scandinavian – warm, spreading the “hygge”-vibe and modern. The weather was way too beautiful to sit inside. Luckily, they also have a small terrace in front of the café. Moreover, the sun shines on it alreadyin the morning.
Café Blá belongs to the great coffee roasteries in Munich, among Man Versus Machine, Gang & Gebe oderStandard 26. Since I started working in an office again, I always need my coffee in the morning. It’s part of the perfect start into the morning.

Beside small breakfast glasses the café serves waffles in different options. Since I’m not a huge fan of sugared dishes, I would never order or make waffles at home (moreover, I don’t even own a waffle iron). But I’m always in for a salty dish. You can choose your toppings and I went for the salmon-avocado-topping. Along with a light cream cheese it was super delicious.

Until 2pm Café Blá offers its breakfast-waffle-options. You can order them also in a menu, for example along with an orange juice or yoghurt. For lunch they have a daily dish and delicious cakes for the afternoon.

We spent a cozy morning there. I’d definitely come back for the delicious waffles and coffee. Funnily, a friend of mine lives right above the Café but we never made it to meet at Café Blá. I think you know it – time’s always too short!
