FRIDAY. Friday started with a quick breakfast at the awesome at the Grand Hotel Kronenhof (of course, we woke up too late to have breakfast longer). The nature around St. Moritz and Pontresina is way to beautiful not to discover. We chose the mountain railway Corvatsch and went all the way up. Unfortunately, the sight was way to blurry to be able to spot the 5 lakes landscape of the Engadin.
While the golf players and other journalists were already playing at the Golf tournament Coupe Kulm et Kronenhof at the Chesa al Parc we joined them for the BBQ – delicious burgers and prawn skewers!
SATURDAY. Early in the morning we took off for hiking. On the program was the gourmet summit at the Panorama restaurant on the Piz Nair. Of course, there were mountain railways all up to the summit but we took the harder way (also, a little workout was needed after so much food those days).
The gourmet summit including a four-course-menu was prepared of the prestigious chefs Fabrizio Piantanida of the Grand Hotel Kronenhof, Hans Nussbaumer of the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz and Erwin Koch, chef of the Panorama-Restaurants.
Our menu was:
- Marinate lake trout from Sils
- S-chanf quail consommé with julienne vegetables
- braised rump of beef “Bergeller style”, polenta bramata, summer vegetables
- Engadine sour cream pudding with blueberries and Engadine slice
… and back down to the valley. This time with the railway!
