Hangover smoothies for the holidays. The Holy Holidays are coming closer and closer. I’m getting more and more in Christmas mood. As a matter of fact, I’m listening to Christmas music right now and watched The Holiday one more time. I just love that movie. I’m super excited to spend some quality time with my family and friends. The 23rd November is always the meet-up day in my hometown and the whole city is crowded. Usually you’ll meet up for one, two mulled wines at the Waltherplatz or in front of Restaurant Vögele. Most of the people will go clubbing later on. The last years I’ve partied hard but this year my friends have already told me that there is no excuse.
For all of you who are celebrating Christmas with lots of alcohol you’re bang on target here. I’ve created these three smoothies with Rewe, which will bring you round the day after – bye bye hangover! Below you’ll find a nice Christmas video from Rewe.
Hangover Smoothie 1 green – spicy – sweet
80 gr spinach
2 tbsp yoghurt or greek yoghurt
4 ice cubes
one big piece ginger
1 tbsp honey
The bananas are good for your heart and body cycle, while the yoghurt stimulates the digestion. Ginger will ban nausea and honey regulates the insulin level.
Hangover Smoothie 2 Mood Booster
2 tbsp yoghurt or greek yoghurt
4 ice cubes
1 tbs freshly grated ginger
pomegranate juice or fresh promegranate
optional 1-2 TL almond butter or almonds
Bananas are such a great energy booster and I use the in most of my smoothies. Pomegranate contains lots of antioxidants. Almonds are rich of monounsaturated fatty acids and energize.
Hangover Smoothie 3 Green Digestion
1 stalk celery
1/4 cubumber
1 banana
1/2 Mango
1 small piece of ginger
fresh mint
100 ml water
Last but not least another green smoothie. Celery purges and is great for the digestion – especially when eating and drinking a lot. Cucumber hydrates your body and the mango is full with rich vitamins and minerals.
