I can’t believe that my last restaurant recommendation is so long ago whereas I have so many unwritten tips.
A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a lovely press dinner of the B.HORN restaurant. I’ve noticed the restaurant already a couple of times when cycling back home. It’s located in the “Drei-Kiez-Eck” (german for three neighborhood corner) in the middle of Tempelhof, Boddinkiez and Schillerkiez. This time I should have taken the bike or public transport because the focus of the night was a delicious cocktail pairing. On the other hand, it wasn’t so hard to get out of bed the day after.

FOOD & DRINKS
The dishes at B.HORN are a colorful mix from all the travels of the owner Ludwig Horn und Alexandra Vlachopoulou – from L.A., Barcelona to Athen… Their concept is called “Food.Bar” as they were longing for a decent cocktail bar in the Kiez. High quality food dishes combined to cocktails. Of course, everything is to share, which I love. I mean, you’ll have to try all dishes to make up your mind, right?
Here are some dishes from the menu:
- a classic Burrata (8,00€)
- Beetroot carpaccio with grilled goat cheese (6,50€)
- Vitello Tonnato (8,00€)
- Ribs! (9,00€)
- Entrecôte (15,00€)
- …
By the way, the cocktails have very cool names – Richbitch, Raspbutin, Hasenheide Spritz (which was definitely my favorite) or simply The Dude. The prices of the cocktails are varying between 7 – 11€.

RÉSUMÉ
Personally, I liked the dishes at B.HORN. I couldn’t drink too much because I had to drive and on the other hand the cocktails were a bit too sweet for me. I prefer sour and bitter cocktails way more. My highlight of the dishes were the “Ribs!”, which were really good. I also liked the pulpo. I wasn’t so convinced about the artichoke dish as it didn’t have so much flesh (is that the right word) and I prefer them the classic way with vinaigrette. But next time I’ll cycle by and pop in for a delicious “Hasenheide Spritz”. I’m sure I’ll be hungry too and will eat a tiny bit.
Oooh, das klingt soo lecker, das wird sofort notiert hihi. Und ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass die Cocktails genau mein Fall sind: Es kann gar nicht süß genug sein :)
Liebe Grüße,
