Wow! Already the 2nd Advent weekend and slowly I am getting into the Christmas spirit. I am looking forward to Christmas in South Tyrol. This year I’ll spend three weeks there and I am so happy about it. I look forward to the celebrations with my family (which includes excellent food from my mum).
What would Christmas be like without an Italian salad in South Tyrol? The hearty dish is eaten not only as a side dish at Christmas or New Year’s Eve, but also in our house as a “light” lunch with steamed broccoli, chard and swede germs.
- The Italian Salad is similar to the Russian salad “Olivje”, which additionally contains gherkins and pieces of sausage.
Rezept
Italienischer Salat
1.5 kg of potatoes
3 carrots
1 small glass of capers
about 200g of Leerdamer cheese
Mayonnaise
1 small glass of peas (mini size)
1 grated apple
Cook the potatoes and carrots the day before. Cut potatoes, carrots and Leerdamer cheese into small cubes and place in a large bowl. Add the peas and capers. Mix all the ingredients with the mayonnaise, add the grated apple and season with salt and pepper.
E finito!
The salad is also wonderful as a party salad. Try it and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it.
Pin for later
Das sieht ja sehr gesund und erfrischend aus. Genau die richtige Vorbereitung auf das schwere und fettige Weihnachtsessen. Hab noch einen wunderbaren Adventsabend :9

Vielen Dank liebe Dorie! Zusammen mit dem Brokkoli, Mangold ist es etwas leichter, das stimmt!
Das wünsche ich dir auch!
viele Grüße,
